The Dallas Cowboys’ lost CeeDee Lamb to a high ankle sprain after Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears – an injury that will likely keep the All-Pro wideout out of the lineup for around 3-4 weeks – and could include a stint on short-term IR.

But another loss that – due to the news coming out about Lamb – went under the radar was the Cowboys losing rookie first round guard, Tyler Booker, also to a high ankle sprain – which will reportedly keep him out for around a month and possibly more.

As such, Dallas’ offensive line; which was already sans center, Cooper Beebe and guard, Robert Jones – the latter of whom suffered a season-ending broken bone in his neck; could well be in need of some reinforcements in the not-so-distant future.

Cowboys Could Look To Bring In Some New Faces On The Offensive Line

And Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton, writing on Tuesday, suggests that the team could and should make a move to sign some new talent on the interior of the offensive line.

The Cowboys don’t have a starting-caliber backup to fill in for Booker.” Moton writes. Dallas may have some urgency in addressing the interior of its offensive line, with center Cooper Beebe also recovering from a high ankle sprain.

Dallas may dip into the free-agent market for a short-term starter who could be an asset for its 11th-ranked ground attack.”

Moton suggests that the ideal candidate for a short-term fill-in could be former Indianapolis and New York Giants guard, Mark Glowinski. Glowinski spent a decade in the league from 2015-2024, and after not being re-signed by the Colts during his second stint with the organization, remains a free agent.

For most of his career, Mark Glowinski has been a solid guard who’s lined up on the right side, where Booker played in the first three games of this season.” Moton continued. The 33-year-old has started in 101 contests and last saw action with the Indianapolis Colts in 2024.

The Cowboys wouldn’t have to invest a lot in Glowinski, who’s in the latter part of his career, but still a serviceable starting guard.

The Addition Of Glowinski Could Help Keep The Offensive Line Afloat

There are few teams that could lose three starting interior offensive linemen – Jones was playing with the #1s before his injury in training camp – and despite their best efforts and above-average depth on the roster at the position group, the Cowboys are no exception.

Glowinski was hardly exceptional in his final season in Indianapolis, where he was called into action mid-way through the season in November and proceeded to play 5 games at guard.

But, unlike TJ Bass or Trevor Keegan, he has substantial experience from his impressive 101 career starts in the NFL – something that is key on a line that has two relatively inexperienced starters in left tackle, Tyler Guyton and center, Brock Hoffman – starting in lieu of Beebe.

Glowinski was once part of a legendary Colts offensive line that was considered amongst the league’s most elite for the best part of half a decade from 2018 to 2021.

He is not the same borderline Pro Bowler that he once was in his prime, but he is certainly good enough to help solidify and shore-up the middle of an otherwise injury-stricken offensive line.
