Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have yet to make the blockbuster move that many fans expected to see entering the 2026 NFL offseason.

Early on in the offseason, there were rumors surrounding the team potentially trading for Las Vegas Raiders superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby. The Cowboys were also connected as a potential landing spot for star free agent defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

Neither of those rumors become a reality.

More recently, Dallas has been linked as a potential trade suitor for Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett. If the Browns were to open up to the idea of trading Garrett, the Cowboys would make a lot of sense as a destination for him.

Those rumors have received a new update from ESPN NFL insider Dan Graziano.

Cowboys’ Dream Trade Scenario for Myles Garrett Gets New Update

During an appearance on “Get Up” on Monday morning, Graziano shared that he thinks a new contract for Garrett in Cleveland is more likely than a trade.

“I think it’s more likely that Myles Garrett gets another contract bump from the Browns this offseason than gets traded,” Graziano said.

Honestly, the idea of the Browns trading Garrett was a strange thought to begin with. After breaking the single-season sack record last year, Cleveland parting ways with him would be a massive shock to the rest of the NFL.

It has been clear that the Browns would much prefer to find a way to make sure that Garrett plays his entire career in Cleveland.

Myles Garrett Would Be a Super Bowl Move for Dallas

Jones has made it clear that he wants the Cowboys back in Super Bowl contention. He suggested that he was willing to spend big to make that happen.

There would be no other move that would move Dallas closer to a championship than pulling off a trade for Garrett. He’s arguably the best defensive player in football right now. His presence alone would be a huge step in the right direction.

Last season with the Browns, the 30-year-old superstar played in all 17 games. He racked up 60 total tackles to go along with 23 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a defended pass.

Throughout his entire 134-game career across nine seasons, Garrett has totaled 412 tackles, 125.5 sacks, 23 forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and 18 defended passes.

At this point in time, it appears that the Cowboys don’t have much of a chance to make the Garrett dream become a reality. However, things can change. Cleveland could decide that moving on from Garrett would be in the best interest of the franchise.

Only time will tell, but Dallas would instantly become a contender to acquire Garrett if he is placed on the trade block.
