Even though Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys haven’t made any huge franchise-changing additions so far this offseason, they have been very busy.

That business continued on Wednesday evening. The Cowboys completed two trades within minutes of each other.

Dallas decided to move on from defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa, sending him to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a third-round pick. Shortly after that move was completed, the Cowboys also made a deal with the Tennessee Titans to trade defensive lineman Solomon Thomas out of town.

According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, Dallas traded Thomas and a seventh-round pick to the Titans in exchange for a seventh-round pick.

“Another trade: Dallas is sending DL Solomon Thomas and a 7th-round pick to the Titans in exchange for another 7th-round pick,” Schefter wrote on X. “Picks 218 and 225.”

Cowboys Decide to Part Ways With Solomon Thomas After One Year

For Thomas, his tenure with the Cowboys only lasted one season. He played 16 games during the 2025 campaign, recording 27 tackles and a defended pass.

It was clear after just one year that Thomas wasn’t going to be a key part of the defense moving forward.

Throughout his 131-game NFL career, Thomas has totaled 239 tackles, 18.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and six defended passes.

What Has Dallas Done So Far This Offseason?

Coming into the offseason, Jones had talked a big game about spending big money. Fans were hoping to see the Cowboys get aggressive as they search to get back into Super Bowl contention.

Here is exactly what Jones had to say about his aggressive approach to free agency:

“I would bet that we will spend more money in free agency than we have,” Jones said. “I want you to know that the only way to push more [out] is for me to go borrow some of my future, OK? Expect me to go borrow some of my future.”

To this point in the offseason, the biggest move Dallas has made was trading a 2027 fourth-round pick to the Green Bay Packers for pass rusher Rashan Gary. While that move could pay off in a big way, Gary has had issues with consistency throughout his NFL career. The move is far from being a clear home run.

Outside of the Gary trade, the Cowboys have added safety Jalen Thompson on a three-year, $33 million deal, quarterback Sam Howell, safety P.J. Locke, defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia, and also re-signed defensive end Sam Williams.

While they have clearly made some solid moves, they haven’t moved the needle. Dallas fans are still hoping that Jones finds a way to get something done to improve Super Bowl odds.

Expect to continue hearing rumors and news swirling around the Cowboys. They’re likely not done this offseason after making two trades on Wednesday.
