If you didn’t know already, and have spent the season doubting him, Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is elite.

Nix could very well put his name in a rare place in NFL history against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17, and could do so in front of a massive audience watching on Netflix on Christmas night.

“Bo Nix of the Broncos is 117 passing yards and 55 rushing yards shy of becoming the third player in NFL history to amass 7500 passing yards and 750 rushing yards in his first two NFL seasons, joining Cam Newton and Kyler Murray,” OptaStats wrote on X on Wednesday, December 24.

Nix and the Broncos are 12-3 in his second season. It’s the second consecutive year he has the Broncos in the playoffs after the franchise’s 9-year playoff drought following their win in Super Bowl 50 following the 2015 season.

Nix Earns Reputation for Dramatic Comebacks

With Nix and the Broncos still in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 seed in the AFC Playoffs, there will be plenty of eyes on them for the final 2 games of the regular season against the Chiefs and in the regular-season finale against the Los Angeles Chargers in Denver, which could be a winner-take-all game for the AFC West title and top seed.

With one more comeback this year — meaning if the Broncos trail at any point in the game — the Broncos will set an NFL record with their 12th comeback win in a single season.

Nix has already grabbed his own unique piece of NFL history this season in a 33-32 Week 7 win over the New York Giants.

Trailing 19-0 headed into the fourth quarter, Nix rallied the Broncos and became the first player in NFL history to throw for 2 touchdowns and pass for 2 touchdowns in a single quarter.

“NFL teams had won an incredible 1,602 straight games when leading by 18+ points in the final six minutes,” The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov wrote on his official X account. “The Giants led 26-8 with six minutes left… and the Broncos came back to win 33-32.”

Haters Losing Ammunition Against Nix Every Week

The Nix Hate Train seemed to be in full effect through the first month of the NFL season, and especially after the Broncos were 1-2 with both losses coming on the last play of the game.

Nix’s steadiness and leadership seem to have swung the tide. While Nix usually (and willingly) takes the blame for any Broncos defeat, a 34-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16 seemed to flip that somewhat after he went 28-of-47 passing for 352 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception.

Nix, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, is in the second season of a 4-year, $18.6 million contract. He was one of a record-tying 6 quarterbacks taken in the first round that year.

According to NFL on Prime Video, Nix is one of just 3 quarterbacks in NFL history to start their careers with consecutive seasons with 10-plus wins.

“The 2024 QB draft class is the greatest of All Time,” NFL influencer Dov Kleiman wrote on X. “Caleb WilliamsDrake MayeJayden DanielsBo Nix. Every single one of them is an elite franchise QB.”
