Von Miller is nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career.
However, the future he’s openly envisioning sounds like a potential return home.
Speaking on Free Range with Von Miller, the legendary pass rusher made it clear that a reunion with the Denver Broncos is something he genuinely wants.
“I would love to be a Denver Bronco next season,” Miller said.
“After the season, y’all make room for me over there with the Denver Broncos,” he added.
“I would love to be in that linebacker room and give Nik Bonitto all the knowledge I got for him to be the best version of himself.”
Even if it means coming back in a limited role and mostly as a mentor, Miller made it clear he wants to finish his career in Denver.
This whole conversation started because Nik Bonitto commented in defense of Miller on a social media post.
He commented “I’m people” on a post that said “there are people that really think Von Miller was better than Myles Garrett.”
Miller emphasized how much Bonitto’s comment meant to him:
“It’s stuff like that when you feel loved and appreciated.”
Why Von Miller Isn’t Ready to Walk Away Yet
Miller’s comments come after another productive season that further cemented his place in NFL history.
He made it clear last week that he has no plans to retire and wants to come back for another season.
The 36-year-old finished the year with nine sacks.
This pushed his career total to 138.5 and tying former teammate DeMarcus Ware for ninth on the league’s all-time sack list.
Miller has been clear that he’s not ready to retire with that number sitting where it is.
“I only need two sacks,” Miller said.
He reiterated that passing Ware remains a personal goal.
If Miller records 3.5 more sacks, he will move up to six on the all time NFL sack leaders list.
While he acknowledged that he no longer controls where he plays at this stage of his career, Miller made one thing clear:
“I would love to be a Denver Bronco next season and contribute in any way that I can to improve those young guys.”
Why a Broncos Reunion Makes Sense
While Miller knows that his next destination may not be entirely his decision, Denver checks a lot of boxes.
The Broncos already have ascending edge rushers in Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper.
Adding a future Hall of Famer as a rotational pass rusher and locker-room leader could be invaluable.
From a football standpoint, Miller wouldn’t need to be “the guy.”
Instead, he could be used situationally.
He could help on passing downs while accelerating the development of Denver’s young core.
From a culture standpoint, his presence would mean everything.
As a Broncos legend and one of the best players in franchise history, he would be one of the most respected voices in the locker room.
Miller remains the Broncos’ all-time sack leader with 110.5.
He is forever linked to the franchise’s Super Bowl 50 run.
Whether the roster ultimately has room remains to be seen, but Miller made it clear that if the door is open in Denver, he will sprint through it.
