Professional athletes in the Motor City are well known for their support for one another throughout different sports, and that was on full display on Sunday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena.
The Detroit Pistons successfully managed to rebound from what was a three games to one series deficit against the Orlando Magic, claiming three straight wins from that point on, including Sunday’s 116-94 Game 7 victory to punch their ticket to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in 18 years.
And several members of the Detroit Lions were on hand to take in the action, drawing strong support from the throngs of Pistons fans in attendance.
Multiple Detroit Lions Players Were In Attendance For The Detroit Pistons Game 7 Win
During the third quarter of Sunday’s Game 7, multiple Detroit Lions players were shown on the big screen at Little Caesars Arena, drawing rave reactions from the crowd.
Included among the Lions players were Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Jahmyr Gibbs.
Earlier in the series, Lions quarterback Jared Goff was in attendance, while head coach Dan Campbell took in a Pistons playoff game last season against the New York Knicks.
Following the 93-79 victory by the Pistons in Game 6 in Orlando, the Lions tweeted out a special message to star Cade Cunningham on their official X account, formerly known as Twitter:
“Cade Cunningham,” the post began. “Smooth Operator.”
The nickname, of course, is in reference to the classic 1980’s tune from Sade of the same name, which often plays at Little Caesars Arena.
During Game 6, Cunningham helped the Pistons stave off elimination by scoring 32 points, while also grabbing ten rebounds, three assists, four steals, and also registering a block.
