The Green Bay Packers entered NFL free agency with quite a few decisions to make about players who were on their 2025 roster.
One of those players was pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare. While there was a chance that the Packers would try to re-sign him, the likeliest scenario was for the 26-year-old pass rusher to leave town and sign elsewhere.
That is exactly what has happened early on in the free agency negotiating window.
According to a report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, Enagbare has agreed to terms on a one-year, $10 million contract with the New York Jets.
“Pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare headed to the Jets for one year and $10M, per Trevon Smith of @AthletesFirst , who negotiated deal,” Fowler wrote on X.
What Are the Green Bay Packers Losing in Kingsley Enagbare?
Throughout his four-year tenure with Green Bay, Enagbare showed consistent development and improvement. He had become a key role player for the Packers’ defense over the last couple of years.
During the 2025 NFL season, Enagbare played in all 17 regular season games. He racked up 39 total tackles to go along with two sacks.
In all four seasons he played in Green Bay, Enagbare appeared in 68 games. He never missed a regular season game. Enagbare totaled 146 tackles, 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and four defended passes.
Originally drafted with the No. 179 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Enagbare ended up being a great value selection. Now, he’ll have a chance to play a much bigger role with the Jets and prove that he can be an NFL starter.
As for the Packers, they have now lost a few key players from their defensive front. Enagbare joins Rashan Gary, who was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, and Colby Wooden as key defensive departures thus far.
The New York Jets Are an Intriguing Fit for Enagbare
Led by head coach Aaron Glenn, who was an elite defensive coordinator during his tenure with the Detroit Lions, New York is looking to aggressively push back into playoff contention.
The Jets finished the 2025 season with a 3-14 record. Glenn has been under fire for the lack of improvement from the New York defense.
Enagbare isn’t going to be asked to turn into a superstar overnight. The Jets will simply need him to be the same consistent presence off of the edge that he was throughout his four seasons with Green Bay.
Expect to hear more about former Packers signing elsewhere in the near future. There is a good chance that Quay Walker will be on his way out of Green Bay soon as well.
