The Houston Texans could be one of the many teams slated for a game overseas in 2026.

The Houston Texans are waiting for the release of the full 2026 NFL regular-season schedule. The NFL finalized a date for the drop: May 14. However, the Texans appear to have received an early glimpse at their slate thanks to a timely information leak.

Houston is coming off its third straight trip to the postseason, and could be better in the area that lagged most–offensively–in Year 2 under coordinator Nick Caley.

The Texans could be on deck to take their show across the pond next season.

Texans Schedule Rumor: AFC South Matchup vs Jaguars at Wembley Stadium in 2026

The Texans have long known who they will face in 2026, and the NFL finalized May 14 as the official release date for the full schedule. As is the case every year, though, supposed leaks are occurring.

One such bit of intel has the Texans in an AFC South showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium, i.e., in London.

Per highly accurate schedule leaker OzzyNFL in a post shared on X on May 9, “The Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans will play a divisional game in London this season, per sources.

“Game is scheduled for October 18th, Week 6 at 9:30 AM EST – Wembley Stadium.”

The NFL will play nine games outside of the United States during the 2026 regular season.

Per the league, the slate “will include games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Mexico City, Mexico; London, England; Munich, Germany; Madrid, Spain, Paris, France; & Melbourne, Australia.”

Some matchups are already known, like the San Francisco 49ers playing the Los Angeles Rams in the first-ever game in Australia. Clearly, though, most of the schedule has yet to be revealed, let alone confirmed.

The fact that this matchup is a divisional game is also significant.

Texans Would Snap Drought With Rumored International Contest

GettyThe Houston Texans have not had an international game on their schedule since 2019.

The Texans have a 32-16 record against the Jaguars, including a nine-game win streak from the start of the 2018 season through the first matchup in 2022. Houston has won three of the last four meetings and is 4-2 under head coach DeMeco Ryans.

However, this game adds another factor that Ryans and the Texans must overcome if this matchup is indeed on the schedule. The Texans also have the edge over the Jaguars overseas.

They won the only international matchup between the two teams 26-3 at Wembley in 2019.

Then, Deshaun Watson was still under center as the starting quarterback.  That is the Texans’ most recent international contest. They lost their other, 27-20 tilt against the then-Oakland Raiders in Mexico on “Monday Night Football,” the first “MNF” game played outside of the US.

This game shifts the locale and, possibly, the on-field advantage. The Texans are notably 15-9 on the road against the Jaguars since becoming an NFL franchise.

That includes the Texans’ previous matchup against the Jaguars in London.

Their loss in Jacksonville during the 2025 regular season–without starting QB C.J. Stroud, who was sidelined due to a concussion–was their first since 2017. Ryans and the Texans are surely hoping to get back to their winning ways over the Jaguars, who are trying to build on theirs.
