The father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Pat Mahomes Sr. was arrested on February 3 after violating his probation.
His violation – allegedly drinking alcohol – according to TMZ staff, writing on Tuesday.
Mahomes Sr. is serving a five-year probation sentence after the most recent of this three DWIs, which occurred after his son’s most recent Super Bowl victory in February 2024.
“The 55-year-old former MLB player was booked in Smith County Jail at 8:53 AM … and he didn’t look too thrilled as he posed for another mugshot.” TMZ reports.
Per the District Attorney (DA), via the publication, it appeared that Mahomes Sr. had an increased reading on his alcohol level, per his monitor, implying he may have been engaged in consumption.
Mahomes Sr. Arrested After Claimed Probation Violation
“The District Attorney confirmed to us Mahomes Sr. was jailed for a probation violation … with the probation violation report stating he had a high alcohol reading on his SCRAM alcohol ankle monitor on Jan. 1.”
However, on subsequent dates, four and eight days later, there did not appear to be signs of alcohol in his system, per urine tests.
“The doc states Mahomes provided urine samples later on both Jan. 5 and 9, and the results were negative for alcohol.”Mahomes Sr. was first arrested for DWI on September 12, 2008 – five prior to Mahomes II’s thirteenth birthday – and then just over a decade later on February 26, 2019.For his most recent case, Mahomes Sr. was also caught driving with an invalid license on July 12, 2024 – due to his DWI case just a few months prior – and on August 27, 2024 pled guilty to the DWI charge.During his sentencing the following month, Mahomes Sr. faced 10 days in jail and one year of “intense supervision” for his first year of probation, which ended late in 2025.
