Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is rehabbing from injury, and his wife Brittany Mahomes is sending him a message.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been sidelined with a season-ending injury, which he sustained during the team’s game on December 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers, and now, he’s in recovery mode. Mahomes sustained an ACL and LCL in his left knee, for which he quickly got surgery and started rehab.

Mahomes’ wife Brittany has been by his side during the recovery process. Patrick wasn’t even able to be at the Chiefs’ final game of the season, which was a 14-12 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, January 4, instead opting to stay home and continue his rehabilitation process. After all, even though next season seems like an eternity away, it really isn’t, and Mahomes would like to hit the ground running.

Brittany is active on social media, and she often shares posts about her family and business projects. On Tuesday, January 6, Brittany took to her Instagram story to share a simple but heartfelt message to her husband.

On her Instagram story, Brittany shared a photo of Patrick simply walking across the field, with the lights dim, and the message, “My guy,” with a red heart. The post was actually her sharing Mahomes’ post on Instagram, which he shared in the morning featuring a collection of photos of him on the field, in action. So, she’s showing her support for Patrick on his journey to recovery.

“Biggest comeback of all-time, book it,” one followed stated in response to the post. “God speed brother. I know you will come back stronger and better though the journey is challenging and frustrating. Will all be part of your incredible legacy,” another said.

On Monday, January 5, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid gave an update on Mahomes’ rehab, stating, according to ESPN’s Nate Taylor, “He’s doing great for just being three weeks out. He’ll go ahead and most likely stay up here (in Kansas City) rehabbing. He has a lot of trust in (Julie Frymyer). He’s been in there grinding.”

Kansas City Chiefs 2026 NFL Draft Prospects

The Kansas City Chiefs wrapped up their 2025-26 season with only six wins, and with that 6-11 record, they’ll be in line to pick No. 9 overall in the 2026 NFL draft.

ESPN’s Jordan Reid likes defensive lineman Rueben Bain Jr. out of Miami for the Chiefs.

“Bain’s game is all about power; he’s a heavy-handed defender who regularly overwhelms blockers at the point of attack,” Reid states in a Tuesday, January 6 feature about the draft. “Capable of playing 0- to 9-technique, Bain can play all over the defensive line and has flashed in big moments during Miami’s current playoff run. At 6-foot-3, 275 pounds, Bain’s measurables might not fit every team’s wish list but would work well in Kansas City, where defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has preferred dense and powerful pass rushers.”

He adds of the prospect, “Bain had 8.5 sacks this season and would give a boost to a Chiefs pass rush that finished with only 35 sacks in 2025, tied for 22nd in the NFL.”
