The Seattle Seahawks are now Super Bowl champs after defeating the New England Patriots 29-13, but now have to face the reality of losing an extremely talented coach.

With news emerging on February 1st that Seahawks’ offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak intends to “work out a deal” to become the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, the deal is not able to be finalized until after the Super Bowl.

However, he wasted no time setting the record straight after the Super Bowl victory.

According to NFL Network’s Stacey Dales, Kubiak confirmed to her that he will be the next head coach of the Raiders.

“While Klint Kubiak is celebrating this special Super Bowl win with the Seahawks, he just confirmed to me on camera that he will be the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. @nflnetwork,” Dales wrote on an X (Twitter) post.

“I think the thing I appreciate the most about Klint is he’s a team player,” Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said. “It’s all about what’s best for the team all the time, and he takes a lot of pride in that, that it’s a team effort. He’d be the first to say that the rest of his staff does a great job and the players are the ones that make it come to life. So I think there’s a humility behind how he operates.”

Kubiak, who joined the Seahawks as the team’s OC this season, has already become a favorite in the building.

“That’s one of the big things about Klint, he’s so unselfish,” Seahawks’ tight ends coach Mack Brown said. “If we have a good idea, we feel like we can bring it to him. If you create buy-in, you’re going to get the play in the game plan. It’s one of the awesome things about working for Klint.”

Thanks to Kubiak, Seattle’s offense capped off the Super Bowl win with 20 first downs on 71 plays, totaling 335 yards.

Kubiak Expected to Bring Seahawks’ Coach and Best Friend to Las Vegas

According to ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, Kubiak is also expected to bring Seattle’s quarterbacks coach, Andrew Janocko, to Las Vegas.

“Klint Kubiak is headed to Las Vegas, and he will need an offensive coordinator. Seattle quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko is a natural candidate. He has been with Kubiak in Minnesota, New Orleans, and Seattle. I expect him to have some traction there, or possibly in-house with Seattle.”

Janocko, who’s not just another co-worker but one of Kubiak’s best friends, had high praise for Las Vegas’ new HC.

“He’s somebody that you can’t say enough good things about the actual person, the way he cares for others and the way he wants people around him to succeed. He takes zero credit for anything. In fact, it’s something that honestly just annoys me. The guy’s putting together this masterful game plan every single week and he gives all the credit to everybody else.”

Exciting times are hopefully in store for the Raiders, and it looks like they’ve made a home run hire in Klint Kubiak.
