The Las Vegas Raiders are set to undergo a massive change this offseason, from the coaches to the players to the way the team approaches each practice. The one change everyone doesn’t want to see? Star pass rusher Maxx Crosby leaving the Raiders.
“He’s a true leader,” defensive tackle Adam Butler said regarding Crosby. “You don’t come across people like that in our lifetime.”
He’s been everything the Raiders wanted and more. But the Raiders haven’t been everything for Crosby.
Going through multiple losing seasons, multiple head coaches, and multiple quarterbacks… it can take a toll on a player who desperately wants to win. And Crosby reached his breaking point when the Raiders decided to shut down his season.
Now, who knows what will happen with Crosby? People would like to say he’s not going anywhere, yet that’s the same thing Dallas Cowboys fans were saying about Micah Parsons last offseason.
With that, there could be a trade offer that will actually entice Raiders general manager John Spytek.
Proposed Trade Pitch Sends Maxx Crosby to the Jaguars for Travon Walker and Draft Capital
Florida Times-Union writer Ryan O’Halloran proposed an enticing trade pitch for Crosby that includes Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Travon Walker, two first-round picks, and a third-round pick.
“The [Jaguars] pass rush was ranked 27th in the league this year. They had one sack and six pressures in a playoff game. That needs to be an upgrade cause I think that could be the missing piece.”
He’s right. Crosby can be the missing piece for the Jaguars. But what Raiders fans need to understand is that Las Vegas isn’t a “Maxx Crosby” player away from being contenders.
Crosby will be 29 by the time next season rolls around. If they have an opportunity to acquire Walker, who’s 25 years old, and a haul of premium draft picks, it should be enticing enough for Spytek to pull the trigger.
What the Raiders Would Get in Walker
Walker is a former No. 1 overall pick by the Jaguars back in 2022. He’ll bring reliability, having played 14 or more games the past four seasons since entering the league, and is best known for his run-stopping ability.
After a quiet rookie year, Walker posted back-to-back 10+ sack seasons and blossomed into one of the most dependable pass rushers in the NFL before amassing 3.5 sacks during the 2025 season. But he hasn’t even scratched his full potential.
“The sky’s the limit for me man,” Walker said. “I still feel like I have a long way to go within my process. I haven’t even scratched the surface of the potential that I know what I am capable of playing and at the consistency, it’s going to be more of a consistency thing for me at this point in my career. And I just want to continue to grow, get one percent better every day. But it’s — I’m not even scratching the surface man. There’s no limit on the ceiling.”
Las Vegas’s future is bright with a No. 1 overall pick of their own, where they’ll presumably draft Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, and could have another first-round pick this year and next year to continue building for the future, along with Walker and a third-round pick.
