Rumors started swirling on Sunday night that the Los Angeles Rams were trying to pry away All-Pro edge-rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns.
The speculation was shut down by many as nothing more than pure conjecture, but by Monday morning it proved to be true when ESPN’s Adam Schefter announced the Rams had, in fact, pulled off one of the biggest blockbuster trades in NFL history for the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
“Bombshell: The Browns are finalizing a trade that will send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, per @rapsheet, @TomPelissero and me,” Schefter posted on X.
“In exchange for Garrett, the Rams are expected to send Pro-Bowl edge Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick and other draft-pick compensation still being negotiated to the Browns.”

Late Sunday night, Easton Butler of Packer Report tweeted that the Rams were making an aggressive move for Garrett — and they had some competition.
“The LA Rams have called the Cleveland Browns about star EDGE Myles Garrett, per a source,” Butler tweeted. “The Rams have reportedly offered a ‘Rickey Williams-esque’ type trade for Garrett.
“The Philadelphia Eagles are also making a strong push, offering WR AJ Brown and more for the star. Craziest part too? The Browns are listening to all the calls currently. The Eagles also made a strong push during the draft for Garrett.”
Some 15-plus hours later, Garrett is L.A. bound, and the Rams should be the new odds-on Super Bowl favorite.
