The Los Angeles Rams will travel to Melbourne, Australia, to face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL’s first regular-season contest in Australia.

“Since we first secured marketing rights to the country in 2021 and more recently since the announcement of this game last year, we have seen tremendous excitement for our team from fans both in Australia and across the world,” Rams president Kevin Demoff said. “We look forward to spending this offseason continuing to deepen our connection with the Melbourne community leading up to the game this fall.”

Well, 49ers star linebacker Fred Warner recently hosted Rams star wide receiver Puka Nacua on his show Real Ones: The League to ask his thoughts on the matchup in Australia, and Nacua didn’t hold back his feelings.

When Warner asked Nacua about the matchup Down Under, he didn’t mince his words, saying, “Honestly at SoFi there’s not too many home games.”

Warner: “Guess what, it’s your home game too. Now you don’t get a home game, we still get our home game.”

Nacua: “Honestly at SoFi there’s not too many home games.”

Warner: “I was just about to say. That’s like honestly a blow to us, to be real.”

Ouch. There are still Rams fans at the games, but it’s the unfortunate reality since the Rams just moved back to Los Angeles in 2016. Nacua also questioned the NFL’s decision, since the Rams and 49ers are only an hour apart via flight.

There’s also been a recent trend, specifically among wide receivers, to call out their fan base.

Detroit Lions star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown also called out Lions fans, saying, “Most of you guys don’t know really much about anything, about any ball. And you’re tweeting about a coach that was hired that you guys don’t like because of X, Y, Z. It’s just funny to me to see. Don’t get me wrong, I love all Lions fans. But they are so quick to make judgments about who we hired. … Bro, just relax. Calm down, let the whole thing play out. Let it play out, just relax.”

Granted, it’s different situations, but with this new era of players hosting shows and podcasts, they aren’t holding back on their thoughts.

Nacua Comments on Matthew Stafford Winning MVP

Matthew Stafford

GettyMatthew Stafford #9 of the Los Angeles Rams and the AP NFL Most Valuable Player looks on during the 15th Annual NFL Honors.

After talking with Warner about Australia, he asked Nacua for his initial thoughts on Matthew Stafford winning the MVP award.

“The toughness, the grit. The understanding of the game and the ability to manipulate people. He makes the game so easy for me, and I’m blessed to be able to be around him. Our relationship has continued to grow. From me not being able to speak in the meetings to me and him having one-on-one conversations. Being able to try to figure out how we’re gonna dial it up. So I’m forever grateful for him.”

The good news is Stafford will be back for the 2026 season, and the hope is that he and Nacua can replicate the type of year they had in 2025.
