The Los Angeles Rams are bringing an unexpected addition into the broadcast booth for Saturday’s preseason matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Actress Brenda Song will make her debut as a color analyst during the third quarter of the Aug. 22 game at SoFi Stadium, Rams team reporter Stu Jackson reported Friday.

Song is expected to join J.B. Long, Jourdan Rodrigue and former Rams offensive lineman Rob Havenstein in the CBS Los Angeles booth.

The assignment gives Song a chance to put her well-documented Rams fandom to use in a different setting.

The 38-year-old actress, known for roles in “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” and “Running Point,” has increasingly become part of the franchise’s orbit.

And the Rams apparently trust her football knowledge enough to hand her a microphone.

Song’s appearance adds a wrinkle to a preseason television crew that underwent significant changes entering 2026.

The Rams announced their new broadcast team on Aug. 13, with Long handling play-by-play alongside Rodrigue and Havenstein. CBS LA became the team’s official local preseason television partner as part of the arrangement.

Havenstein moved directly from the field to broadcasting after spending his entire 11-year NFL career with the Rams.

“I am excited to step into a new role in the broadcast booth covering the organization that has been so good to me,” Havenstein said in the team announcement.

Head coach Sean McVay is also participating in the preseason broadcasts through a “Coach Cam” segment in which he breaks down a series during the game.

Song will enter that setup for the third quarter against New Orleans.

The game kicks off at 1 p.m. PT and represents the Rams’ lone home contest of the preseason.

Her analyst stint could provide another reason for local viewers to stay tuned after halftime during a game geared toward evaluating roster depth.

Song Has Built Strong Connection With Rams

Song stepping into the booth might be surprising to casual fans, although her relationship with the franchise has been developing for years.

The Rams enlisted her for their 2025 schedule release, referring to Song as an “aspiring defensive coordinator” while she helped unveil the team’s opponents.

She has also been a regular presence at SoFi Stadium.

Song and fiancé Macaulay Culkin attended multiple Rams games during the 2025 season, and the franchise selected her as its honorary Rampede Captain for a November home game. The team’s official photo gallery showed Song helping fire up the crowd before the game.

Her reputation as an avid Los Angeles sports fan goes past football, particularly through her longtime support of the Lakers. Song has drawn attention in recent years for showing the kind of detailed sports knowledge that goes deeper than a routine celebrity appearance.

Saturday brings the next step.

Rather than watching from a suite or taking part in a pregame ceremony, Song will get a quarter to analyze the action as it unfolds.
