The 2025 season is officially over, with the Seattle Seahawks taking home the Lombardi trophy.
The Los Angeles Rams were close to punching their ticket to Super Bowl LX, but a failed drive down the field gave their rivals the win.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford announced after winning the Most Valuable Player award that he will return for a sixth season with the Rams after mulling retirement.
With the star player now confirmed to run it back, Los Angeles can use the upcoming offseason to give Stafford some more weapons for another run at making the Super Bowl.
Drafting One Of the Best Offensive Players

While Matthew Stafford was one of the best players at his respected position, it is always a good idea to get reinforcements around him.
Puka Nacua was Stafford’s go-to guy, targeting the wide receiver 166 times in the regular season and 42 times in the three playoff games. Davante Adams was the next most targeted player, with his quarterback throwing 114 times in his direction.
No other player on the Rams offense had more than 60 targets, which can be an advantage to opposing defenses if either is out.
The 2026 NFL Draft is in a couple of months and it could be the right time for Los Angeles to get more ammunition for offensive playcaller Sean McVay.
Bleacher Report released their latest mock draft following the Super Bowl, with the Rams predicted to get Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate with the 13th overall pick.
“Thanks to last year’s Day 1 draft trade with the Atlanta Falcons, the Los Angeles Rams have the luxury of adding a position that may not be viewed as an immediate need but can help make the team’s offense even more deadly,” Brent Sobleski wrote. “Ohio State’s Carnell Tate gives a returning Matthew Stafford yet another weapon to expose opposing defenses and possibly improve upon this past season’s No. 1-ranked offense. Tate is an ideal fit thanks to his toughness and willingness to do the little things that tend to go unnoticed.”
Tate is regarded as one of the best receivers in this draft class, if not the best. The Buckeye logged 1,872 recieving yards and 14 touchdowns in his three collegiate seasons.
The wide receiver has been compared to former New Orleans Saints star Michael Thomas as a more “fluid” receiver.
“Davante Adams is not getting any younger (or cheaper), and resetting the wide receiver clock should be a high priority for the Rams,” B/R draft analyst Dame Parson wrote. “Tate remains in contention to be the class’ WR1. His blend of perimeter size, detailed route-running and springy athleticism to high-point contested catches adds yet another element to an already potent offense.”
Tate could have an impressive rookie season with Stafford returning, and could be another receiver who developed from Ohio State.
Many NFL mock drafts have Tate being the first or, at least, the second wide receiver to be drafted.
Getting Help Up Front

With another first-round pick, the Los Angeles Rams could use this time to revamp the offensive line.
Long-time Ram Rob Havenstein, who has been the team’s right tackle since the St. Louis days, is considering retirement after 11 seasons in the NFL.
B/R predicts the Rams will select Georgia tackle Monroe Freeling with the 29th overall pick, which is the team’s original pick.
“Rams veteran right tackle Rob Havenstein is nearing the end of a solid playing career and will be a free agent in March,” Brandon Thorn wrote. “Backup Warren McClendon was serviceable when replacing an injured Havenstein last season, providing the team with a stopgap option. An addition of the inexperienced, raw and talented Freeling gives the unit a long-term option with significant upside, plus the runway to develop slowly with McClendon in place.”
“Along with the Rams having an ultra-friendly offensive line scheme under head coach Sean McVay, this setup is an ideal landing spot for a prospect with Freeling’s profile.”
Having two first-round picks works to the Rams’ advantage, which could help the team make a surprise move in the draft.
