Pretty much nothing has gone right for the Miami Dolphins in the 2025 campaign. They have lost four of their first five games, leading to rumors about the future of the team swirling frequently. Beyond that, they have also lost star wide receiver Tyreek Hill for the remainder of the season after he dislocated his knee in the team’s lone victory of the season.
As a result, the Dolphins could use some extra help at wide receiver behind Jaylen Waddle. One guy they won’t be able to reunite with in free agency in the immediate future, though, is Odell Beckham Jr., as the former All-Pro recently revealed that he has been suspended by the NFL for violating their performance-enhancing drug policy.
Odell Beckham Jr. Gets Suspended for Six Games
Beckham turned himself into one of the top wide receivers in the league early in his career with the New York Giants, when he earned three Pro Bowl selections, two All-Pro Second Team honors, and the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in his first three seasons. As time has gone on, though, injuries have derailed Beckham’s career.
In 2024, Beckham suited up in nine games for the Dolphins, catching just nine passes for 55 yards during his limited time on the field. After failing to find a suitor for him at the trade deadline, Beckham ended up getting cut by Miami, and he has remained on the open market since then.
As it turns out, Beckham’s lengthy stint on the free agent market wasn’t due to him having a lack of interested teams. The popular pass catcher revealed on Tuesday that he has been suspended six games by the NFL for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy, with that suspension set to kick in this week.
Six games,” Beckham said on “The Pivot Podcast” when asked how long it would be until he could make his NFL return. “Last year, I was dealing with this … I’ve never cheated the system. It’s hard for me. To come back and play football, I have to come out and deal with, while I was in Miami, hearing that you get charged and someone says you failed for PEDs.”
Dolphins Looking to Get Back on Track in Week 6

Beckham’s return to the NFL will have to wait a little longer, as he will have to wait until his suspension is up to potentially join a new team. Once it is up, he could draw interest across the league from playoff contenders looking to provide their offense a boost, although it remains to be seen just how much Beckham has left in the tank at this point in his career.
The way things are trending, the Dolphins won’t be one of those playoff hopefuls that could have interest in Beckham. Instead, they could be embracing a rebuild by then, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some major changes get made if the team continues to lose at their current rate. Miami will look to get back in the win column in Week 6, but that will be easier said than done, as it has a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on its hands.
