ABC 6 reported former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. was charged with driving while intoxicated on Saturday.

The UFL’s Columbus Aviators head coach Ted Ginn Jr. will not be available when his team faces the Dallas Renegades on Sunday. Ginn will miss the game after a driving incident Saturday.

ABC 6 reported Saturday “a spokesperson with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office” in Texas confirmed Ginn “has been charged with driving while intoxicated.” Ginn was booked in the county jail at about 3:30 pm Saturday.

According to ABC 6, a police officer stopped Ginn for making a wide right turn and missing a yield at about 1 am Saturday. After the stop, the police officer submitted Ginn to a sobriety test.

Police didn’t take a passenger in the car with Ginn into custody according to ABC 6. Ginn posted a $1,000 bond, and the police released him.

Ginn, who the Miami Dolphins selected in the 2007 NFL Draft, is the head coach of the Aviators. Offensive coordinator and former NFL head coach Todd Haley will served as the Columbus head coach Sunday in Dallas.

“We are aware of an incident involving Head Coach Ted Ginn Jr. over the weekend and are in the process of gathering more information,” UFL president & CEO Russ Brandon wrote in a statement released to the media. “Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley will handle the head coaching duties for the Aviators game on Sunday.”

The Dolphins selected Ginn at No. 9 overall in the 2007 draft. Over three seasons with the Dolphins, Ginn posted 128 catches for 1,664 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Ginn also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears.
