The Miami Dolphins’ 2025 season was filled with disappointment. The team got off to a poor start as they held a 2-7 record through their first nine games, which resulted in the team’s general manager being fired during the season. Their poor start also meant the team became a seller at the trade deadline, where they traded former first-round pick Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick.
At that point, Miami’s season appeared to be finished. However, the team then managed to go on an improbable run that resulted in the team winning six of its final nine games. Unfortunately, that was not enough for the team to make any real noise or save the jobs of head coach Mike McDaniel or quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. But that second half of the season did highlight some of the players that deserved to be seen as pillars for the organization.
One of those was center Aaron Brewer, whom the team relied on during its win streak. Now, following the season, Brewer has commented on a decision made by the NFL that he did not agree with.
Miami Dolphins Star Comments on Decision
During the second half of the season, Miami built their team around the running game and defense. Leading their way offensively was running back De’Von Achane, whose holes on the offensive line were primarily made available by the stellar work of Aaron Brewer. After the season, Brewer’s work was rewarded with a second-team All-Pro selection; however, he was not selected to the NFL Pro Bowl.
Brewer, while speaking with Ari Meirov, was asked about the Pro Bowl snub. He said, “Absolutely. I’m right with y’all. I saw the list when it came out. … I was looking at it and I was like, ‘Oh, the real one hasn’t been released yet. This is fake.’ I was surprised I was nowhere on the list.”
Brewer’s omission from the Pro Bowl drew attention, as NFL.com’s Kevin Patra listed him as one of the biggest snubs from the event. Patra wrote:
“Brewer has been excellent opening holes in Mike McDaniel’s ground attack. Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane benefited from Brewer’s elite skill. Perhaps a tad undersized, Brewer showed this season that he’s an ideal pivot for McDaniel’s offense, able to get out in space and blow open holes at the second level. The Dolphins’ rushing attack wouldn’t be as potent or creative without Brewer on the field.”
Aaron Brewer’s 2025 Season
As Patra mentioned, Brewer was an incredible run blocker during the 2025 season. Pro Football Focus graded him as the best-run blocking center in the NFL, and ranked him as a top-10 center in pass protection.
Brewer was originally signed by the Dolphins prior to the 2024 season as Connor Williams’ replacement. After two seasons in Miami, Brewer has likely outplayed his three-year, $21 million contract, and with only one year remaining on that deal, he is likely an extension candidate for the Dolphins.
Despite being in line for an extension, Brewer reported to the team’s voluntary workouts this offseason, unlike Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane, who is also hoping to receive an extension.
