Tyreek Hill Sparks Speculation With Cryptic Message

Tyreek Hill sparked speculation on his future with the Dolphins

Tyreek Hill has been one of the elite wide receivers of the 2020s. However, his status heading into the 2026 season is up in the air. Hill posted back-to-back seasons with over 1,700 receiving yards in 2022 and 2023, but his play declined in 2024 as he failed to reach the 1,000-yard mark. He seemed poised for a return to form in 2025, but a dislocated knee in Week 4 against the Jets prematurely ended his season.

In that Monday Night Football game against the Jets, Hill had six receptions for 66 yards prior to his departure early in the third quarter. Despite the devastating injury, Tyreek Hill’s agent stated that, “He will play next season, the realistic goal is the start of the season.” If Hill is able to return to his form prior to his injury, it would undoubtedly give the Dolphins a much-needed boost heading into the 2026 season.

Unfortunately, it seems increasingly likely that Tyreek Hill’s time with the Miami Dolphins is coming to an end after four seasons. A recent social media post did not help calm speculation about his departure.

Tyreek Hill’s Cryptic Message

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been known to troll on social media. In the past, he’s even admitted to loving it. With speculation about his possible departure, Hill once again sparked debate with a social media post. Former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick posted, “While we are putting in request…I would love the opportunity to become the next People magazine “Sexiest Man Alive.”” Hill used the opportunity to make a request of his own in response to Fitzpatrick, saying, “Since we putting in request I want to go home.”

Shortly after the post was sent out, people assumed Hill was referencing the Kansas City Chiefs as home. Pro Football Network’s chief operating officer Matt Infante with a picture of Hill in a Chiefs uniform, asking, “This home?” Hill spent the first six years of his career in Kansas City before being traded to the Dolphins.

However, Hill later clarified that he was doing his usual trolling. He added context to his prior post by saying he was stuck in an airport, and he wanted to go home.

Tyreek Hill’s Future With the Miami Dolphins

Despite the trolling, Hill’s future with the Dolphins is far from guaranteed. He’s still under contract for the 2026 season, but with no guaranteed money remaining on his deal, the Dolphins could save $35 million if they designate him as a post-June 1 release. If he were to remain on his current deal, he would carry a $51 million cap hit for the Dolphins in 2026. No other wide receiver in the NFL has a cap hit of over $40 million.

Aside from the injury, his massive cap number is why many around the league expect the Dolphins to move on from Hill this offseason. A recent mock draft by The Draft Network has the Dolphins selecting a wide receiver with the 11th overall pick as they’re assuming Hill won’t be a part of the team next year.
