Justin Jefferson is taking on a new opportunity with a new quarterback, but not one on the Minnesota Vikings’ roster.

He remains one of, if not the, best wide receivers in the NFL. Still, Jefferson’s future with the Vikings has come into question amid the team’s latest retool, which included signing Kyler Murray in free agency.

This opportunity could speak volumes about the situation.

Amid trade speculation involving Jefferson, the Vikings star is part of a joint effort, with U.S. Bank being named the NFL’s “new official bank and wealth management sponsor.” The project includes the U.S. Women’s National Flag Football team quarterback, Isabella “Izzy” Geraci.

Geraci and Jefferson will appear in two spots that were produced by Supergood and will run across various platforms beginning on Tuesday, April 21.

Their role is to help share the bank’s message of the “Power of Us.”

The duo is seen coaching a group of kids during practice for one spot and a game in the other. In a spot focused on small business (the other focuses on banking smartly), Jefferson and Geraci hand out medals after a game, leading the Vikings’ star to say, “Wish I had one of those.”

The player receiving the medal responded, “You’ll get there someday,” leaving Jefferson taken aback and the crowd bursting with laughter.

U.S. Bank has naming rights to the Vikings’ home stadium.

That makes Jefferson a fitting and potentially telling frontperson, given he remains the face of the Vikings and wore team apparel in marketing assets. The partnership lends itself to Jefferson remaining in the Vikings’ long-term plans and vice versa, but shoots higher.

The aim is “focusing on the theme of teamwork and shared success,” a source with knowledge of the project told Heavy Sports of the Jefferson-linked project.

“This campaign also signals the start of U.S. Bank’s support of the NFL FLAG Championships and regional tournaments, reinforcing a commitment to the next generation of athletes and the communities that support them.”

“The National Football League and U.S. Bank announced today a multi-year partnership, naming U.S. Bank as a new official bank and wealth management sponsor of the NFL. The collaboration builds on a strong, trusted relationship between the two organizations spanning more than 20 years and represents a shared commitment to innovation and financial stability,” the official press release states.

“The partnership includes U.S. Bank becoming the presenting sponsor of the Super Bowl MVP Award, starting with Super Bowl LXI, and a top-tier sponsor of the NFL FLAG Championships, further solidifying the bank’s deep ties to the game of football and the sport’s role in communities across the country.”

Geraci is not the only non-Vikings QB on the project with Jefferson.

Fernando Mendoza

The venture not only includes Jefferson as far as NFL talent, but also Fernando Mendoza. He is the presumed No. 1 overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2026 draft. It is all “part of the NFL’s broader financial empowerment pilot.”

“The NFL is currently enhancing and modernizing its approach to player financial empowerment. U.S. Bank will contribute its financial education expertise to these efforts through U.S. Bank Financial Edge™, a customized financial guidance program designed to support players at every stage of their financial journey.”

“Fernando Mendoza, a prospective member of the 2026 NFL Draft class, who earned a business administration degree and will serve as U.S. Bank Chief Financial Playmaker, will provide insight on the bank’s financial education programming. Mendoza will bring firsthand perspectives from his journey navigating NIL (name, image and likeness) contracts to signing his first potential NFL contract, ensuring Financial Edge is tailored to meet the unique needs of professional athletes.”

Jefferson and the Vikings will not face Mendoza and the Raiders in 2026. However, they will play host to the AFC West club in 2027.
