With numerous head coach openings following the end of the 2025 regular season, it’s possible a few New England Patriots coaches could be receiving some calls. And one has already received a request to be interviewed.
NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reports that the Arizona Cardinals have requested to interview Patriots passing game coordinator Thomas Brown for their head coach opening. He has been crucial in the team’s major turnaround, going from back-to-back four-win seasons to now having won 14 games and earning the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. And with that, he has play-calling experience, having worked with Sean McVay and Mike Vrabel.
Brown’s first NFL job came in 2020 as the running backs coach for the Los Angeles Rams. The following year, he retained the same role but earned the title of assistant head coach as well. In 2022, he switched to tight ends coach. However, he was poached by the Carolina Panthers, who hired him as their offensive coordinator in 2023, but that was short-lived. He moved to the Chicago Bears in 2024 as their passing game coordinator, but he was promoted to offensive coordinator in November after they fired Shane Waldron. Then, he was named the interim head coach of the Bears when Matt Eberflus was fired after a 4–8 start last year.
Along with Brown, the Cardinals have also scheduled interviews with 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.

A few days ago, NFL Insider Dianna Russini shared a piece about what she’s hearing regarding the NFL coaching carousel, and Brown’s name came up when mentioning assistant coaches that could receive some calls.
Along with Brown, Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski, Denver Broncos quarterbacks coach Davis Webb, and secondary coach Jim Leonhard, Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Brad Idzik were also named.
Super Bowl Winning Head Coach Expected To Draw Major Interest

On Tuesday, the Baltimore Ravens announced that they are parting ways with John Harbaugh after 18 seasons. And shortly after, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that in the first 45 minutes after he was fired, Harbaugh’s agent Bryan Harlan received calls from seven NFL teams.
Yet, while there are seven head coach openings, one of those includes Baltimore, which is certainly not calling Harbaugh’s agent. So that means another team is set to fire their head coach.
Many expected the Ravens this offseason to not only earn a spot in the playoffs, but also potentially compete in the Super Bowl come February. But now, they have missed the playoffs for the first time since 2021 after falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. In a statement after the news, Harbaugh showed that their is no bad feelings.
“Well, I was hoping for a different kind of message on my last day here, someday, but that day has come today,” Harbaugh said in a statement. “It comes with disappointment certainly, but more with gratitude and appreciation.”
He is not expected to be without a job for long.
