Drake Maye’s impressive second season just got a little bit better.
Just a day after the New England Patriots defeated the Baltimore Ravens to secure a spot in the playoffs, it was announced that Maye was named to the Pro Bowl for a second consecutive season.
And with that, he made history, becoming the fourth quarterback in NFL history to start his career with consecutive Pro Bowl selections, joining Andrew Luck (2012-14), Russell Wilson (2012-15), and Dan Marino (1983-87).
This season, Maye has gone 321-for-453 for 3,947 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, along with 95 carries for 387 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
Maye currently leads the NFL in completion percentage (70.9), while ranking third in passer rating (108.5) and fourth in passing yards (3,947). The Patriots offense as a whole currently tanks sixth in the NFL and seventh in scoring.
Christian Gonzalez Also Named To Pro Bowl

Maye isn’t the only one who will be representing the Patriots at the Pro Bowl. Star cornerback Christian Gonzalez has also earned a spot.
Despite missing the first four games of the season, he has since started the remaining games, in which he’s recorded 61 total tackles and 10 passes defensed. Gonzalez is also always tasked with covering the opposing team’s top receiver.
He is also the first defensive back to earn Pro Bowl honors since cornerback J.C. Jackson in 2021.
Patriots Are Still In Contention For No. 1 Seed In AFC

The Denver Broncos had a clear path to the No. 1 seed in the AFC, but after their Week 16 loss, the Patriots are right back in the running.
After New England fell to the Buffalo Bills, they were two games behind the Broncos, but now, with a win over the Baltimore Ravens and a Denver loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Patriots are only one game behind. And the Broncos end the season with a talented Chargers team that could alter the playoff standings.
Following Week 16, the No. 1 seed odds are 46 percent for the Broncos, 38 percent for the Patriots, and 10 percent for the Jaguars, per The Athletic.
As for the Jaguars, they also have a way to reach the top of the AFC. If they win their final two games against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, they would also need Denver and New England to both lose at least one game.

For the first time in his career, Drake Maye hit the 300-yard milestone. He finished Sunday night, throwing for 380 yards, including 138 yards to veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs, along with 69 yards to Mack Hollins and 46 yards to Kyle Williams.
“The mindset. The fact that we believe that we can win… and we got Drake Maye,” Diggs said after Sunday’s 28-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens. “Drake Maye is a hell of a quarterback. I feel like he approaches this game like a young — blank. I don’t wanna say his name.”
