LeGarrette Blount won two Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots in 2015 and 2017. As a running back for the Patriots during those title runs, Blount emerged as a fan-favorite in New England. In the 2014 AFC Championship Game, Blount rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns against the Indianapolis Colts to seal the win for the Patriots.
In his final year with the team in 2016, LeGarrette Blount rushed for 1,161 yards at 3.9 yards per carry with an NFL-leading 18 touchdowns. However, the Patriots still didn’t re-sign him to a new contract. The Patriots only offered Blount a non-exclusive low-tender contract, which he declined for free agency. However, the move was personal for LeGarrette Blount, who wanted revenge.
Blount signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the Super Bowl in 2017 after beating the New England Patriots. He described that 2017 Super Bowl run with the Eagles was a “bittersweet victory that was more sweet than bitter.” Despite defeating his former team, Blount was not finished “sticking it” to the New England Patriots and did something even more drastic.

Why Did LeGarrette Blount Sell His 2014 Super Bowl Ring?
In February 2024, Blount sold his 2014 Super Bowl ring at auction for an undisclosed amount through Heritage Auctions. LeGarrette Blount spoke to NBC Sports Philadelphia about his favorite Super Bowl ring being the one with the Eagles over his other two with the Patriots. “I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder my entire career,” Blount said. “I went over to Philly and I played against [the Patriots], I had a good game, I scored a touchdown… So that was by far… definitely my favorite.”
Blount went further on the Pat McAfee show in December 2020. He was quite clear about the Patriots and Eagles not being able to “replace him.” Here’s a clip of what Blount said in 2020:
“I feel like you should get your pay, you should get your check,” Blount explained. “I feel that the team should put that respect behind you and put that trust and belief in you like, ‘Hey, we got your back.’ I think a lot of teams don’t do that.”

LeGarrette Blount has remained active since his NFL retirement. Off the field, Blount is the founder of LG’s Feel Good, a company that sells CBD-based wellness products. He also partnered with Michigan-based cannabis cultivator Heavyweight Heads to put out a line of products called “LeGarrette Blount’s World Champion Cannabis.”
