New York Giants rookie Abdul Carter sent Micah Parsons a message after the All-Pro edge-rusher was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers.

He had the chance to compare himself directly to a fellow former Penn State icon, but rookie New York Giants edge-rusher Abdul Carter has a simple message for Micah Parsons, after the four-time Pro Bowler was traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers.

The deal was struck on Thursday, August 28 and saw the Packers send first-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL drafts, along with Pro Bowl nose tackle Kenny Clark, to Dallas, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. Yet, what caught Carter’s eye was Parsons getting a four-year deal worth $188 million, with $136 million in guaranteed cash, according to Rapoport.

As Rapoport pointed out, that’s $47 million annually for one of the NFL’s premium pass-rushers. Carter is just starting his journey to reach Parsons’ elevated status, but this year’s third-overall pick wouldn’t mind a share of the riches.

That’s what Carter posted on ‘X,’ with the message, “47 m’s lemme hold something brudda @MicahhParsons11.”

Parsons will take the message in good spirits now he’s the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history. The destructive All-Pro is also set to resume his career away from the NFC East.

That’s good news for the Giants and clears the path for Carter to assume the mantle as the division’s most dynamic defensive player.

Giants Won’t Miss Micah Parsons

Not having to deal with Parsons twice a season is the best thing to come from this trade for the Giants. The two-time All-Pro has feasted on Big Blue, logging 4.5 sacks in eight career games against the Giants, per Statmuse.

More than the numbers, Parsons proved a constant menace who wrecked the Giants‘ blocking schemes even when he didn’t make the big play. Like when No. 11 dominated a double team so thoroughly he created a free path to Daniels Jones for defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa back in 2023.

It’s significant Giants All-Pro left tackle Andrew Thomas (78) needed so much help just to try and keep Parsons in check. Thomas is the best offensive lineman on the roster, and while he’s still fighting his own battle to overcome multiple surgeries before Week 1, he’ll be happy not to see Parsons again until the Packers visit MetLife Stadium on November 16 for Week 11.

Parsons leaving town took the best all-round pass-rusher out of the division. It’s a distinction the Giants are counting on Carter to make his own.

Abdul Carter Primed to Become Next Micah Parsons

It’s no surprise Carter and Parsons have often shared complimentary messages. Not only are they both legends of the Nittany Lions, but Parsons and Carter have a hybrid skill-set in common.

They started as inside linebackers who quickly proved more athletic and disruptive rushing the pocket from the edge. That’s a trait the duo share with many of the NFL’s marquee quarterback hunters, but Parsons has also been a menace puncturing the pass-pocket from the interior.

The Giants and defensive coordinator Shane Bowen have the same terrifying plan for Carter. He rushed from all over during preseason, but his inside move to create the first of three pressures against the Buffalo Bills in the first exhibition game, highlighted by Justin Penik of Talkin’ Giants, looked like peak Parsons.

Carter has enough natural talent and flair for creating pressure in multiple ways to be another Parsons, and in the process, make the Giants a force again in the East.
