After a disappointing 2025 NFL season, the New York Giants may have a bright future ahead, as they have a talented young core on offense led by rising star quarterback Jaxson Dart and appear to be on the verge of hiring former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to be Brian Daboll’s successor on the sideline.
Even though it seems like a foregone conclusion that Harbaugh will be the new head coach of the Giants, a deal between the storied franchise and the former Baltimore Ravens head coach has not yet been made official, with negotiations ongoing.

Even though it seems like it is only a matter of time before Harbaugh will be named the new head coach of the Giants, the two sides are still negotiating on a deal, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.
“The Giants and John Harbaugh’s camp have worked through negotiations today, may touch base again tonights, and talks will likely spill into the weekend, per sources. Everything’s on track, but with moving parts in the organization, some grey area on structure needs to be solidified.”
Despite the deal not being done with Harbaugh, which always leads to speculation that things will get derailed, it appears to be nothing but a matter of time, according to Connor Hughes of SNY.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Harbaugh will be the next head coach of the New York franchise.
“My understanding after talking to sources involved in this thing,” Rapoport said. “Is that John Harbaugh is still expected to be the Giants head coach. This deal, which is a five-year deal likely around $100 million, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the NFL is expected to get done.”
However, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, there’s “no hurry” to get a deal done with Harbaugh.
Despite no deal having been officially announced between Harbaugh and the Giants, it appears a foregone conclusion that he will be the team’s new leader on the sideline, setting up a potentially promising future for the New York franchise.

Along with all signs pointing to Harbaugh being the new head coach of the Giants and potentially getting the storied franchise back on the right track to competing in the NFC, the former Ravens’ leader on the sideline is getting endorsements from two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning and as well as the man he’ll be replacing in Daboll, according to Ian O’Connor of The Athletic.
Considering Harbaugh’s resume and reputation around the league, he doesn’t need the endorsement of Manning or Daboll, but it can’t hurt as the Giants and the one-time Super Bowl champion work toward coming to terms on a long-term deal.
The real question moving forward is whether Harbaugh can get this team back on track, especially considering he’ll have some talented young players leading the charge in Dart, Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers.
