The New York Giants are getting ready for the 2026 NFL draft, and the league has made an announcement about them for the event.

The 2026 NFL draft is upon us, and it’s a key moment for first-year New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh as he picks a round of rookies to help rebuild this team. The Giants have been in comeback mode for way too long, and they’re coming off a 2025-26 season with a 4-13 record and not much hope.

But, that was before Harbaugh took over. Now, the former Baltimore Ravens coach has once again brought this struggling franchise hope that there’s going to be a better tomorrow. The future of the New York Giants starts, in a sense, with the 2026 NFL draft and Harbaugh’s first draft class for the team.

Now, the NFL has made an announcement about the Giants ahead of the draft, and it has to do with the team’s participation in the event.

NFL Officially Unveils Presenters for 2026 NFL Draft, Including for the New York Giants

On Thursday, April 16, the NFL announced the legends and active players representing all 32 teams  and making the selections in the second and third rounds of this year’s NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

For the Giants, Osi Umenyiora will be on hand to announce the picks. Umenyiora, of course, was with the Giants from 2003 to 2012, and during that time, he won two Super Bowls and became seen among the league’s most elite pass rushers. He rounded out his NFL career with 85 career sacks.

It’ll be nostalgic to see Umenyiora on the stage at the NFL draft. Perhaps he’ll help kick off a new era, and a successful one, for the New York Giants.

New York Giants Snag Wide Receiver Help in 2026 Mock Draft

In a Friday, April 17 piece for ESPN, Matt Miller asks a handful of scouts and executives to weigh in on the first 10 picks in the 2026 NFL draft, one of which goes to the New York Giants. They have the team going with Carnell Tate, a wide receiver, out of Ohio State. You can never go wrong with a Buckeye.

“Love is off the board, but the Giants have every wide receiver and offensive lineman available to them,” he notes in the piece. “Those are two positions of need for a team that likes where it’s at defensively.”

He adds that while Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles is also going to get matched with New York a lot, “the Giants added free agent linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to an already stout group.” So, Tate is seen as a shining option for quarterback Jaxson Dart. He’ll need more targets, and Tate is simply reliable and mature.

“Tate was never the WR1 at Ohio State, but the 6-foot-2, 195-pound pass catcher scored nine touchdowns on 51 catches last season,” Miller adds. “He runs the type of smooth-moving routes that have teams seeing him as a lock to be selected in the first 10 picks.”

So, to think that Tate had those numbers not even being the WR1 at Ohio State says a lot about his potential. Just imagine what he’d be able to do under the coaching of Harbaugh and with a quarterback like Dart.
