The New York Giants‘ 2025 NFL season has officially come to an end, and now it is time for the storied franchise to get to work on getting the right leadership in place to take this team on the right track ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The first order of business for the Giants will be addressing the coaching staff, starting with the hiring of a new head coach to succeed Brian Daboll in New York. A few intriguing names have become available on Monday, as teams begin to make changes heading into their NFL offseason.
Perhaps the most intriguing name to become available for the Giants on Monday is Kevin Stefanski, formerly of the Cleveland Browns.
Kevin Stefanski Linked to Giants’ HC Job

With the Browns parting ways with the two-time NFL Coach of the Year, Stefanski will be a hot commodity on the open market, as he is expected to draw significant interest around the league now that he’s a free agent.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, Stefanski is expected to get an interview for the head coaching vacancy in New York.
“Some league sources are anticipating that Kevin Stefanski will get an interview for the Giants head coach vacancy.”
According to Ian O’Connor of The Athletic, Stefanski might be the favorite to land the job in New York unless the Baltimore Ravens part ways with longtime head coach John Harbaugh, who would then become the Giants’ top target in this search for Daboll’s successor.
“As we sit here right now, I think Kevin Stefanski is the leader in the Giants clubhouse. The team has had internal conversations about John Harbaugh, as you would expect, in case he leaves the Ravens. Harbaugh would hurdle Stefanski if he’s free.”
Other notable names linked to the Giants’ search for a new head coach include Antonio Pierce, Mike McCarthy, Marcus Freeman, Jeff Hafley, Lou Anarumo, and Chris Shula.
Joe Schoen Will Remain Giants GM Moving Forward

With a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of the Giants’ franchise, following the changes made during the 2025 NFL season, general manager Joe Schoen seemed to be in danger of losing his job if the team wanted to start fresh in the front office.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Schoen will remain the team’s general manager moving forward, with his first order of business being to find a new head coach, with John Mara and Steve Tisch making the following statement on Monday.
It would be safe to say that Schoen will have to hit a home run with the hiring of the next head coach, as one more failed experiment could result in him being the next one fired within the organization.
Fortunately for Schoen, there appear to be some solid coaching candidates out there, with Stefanski more than likely being the best option available now that he’s been let go by the Browns.
