The New York Jets are exploring a potential reunion in 2025.
NFL Network Insider Mike Garafolo revealed that the Jets worked out veteran cornerback Arthur Maulet on Tuesday, September 16.
“No immediate signing for Maulet, who’s had offers and inquiries and is searching for the right fit and opportunity,” Garafolo explained.
Maulet, 32, was with the Jets for two seasons from 2019 through 2020. During that stretch, Maulet appeared in 23 games and started 11.

The former Memphis product entered the league in 2017 as an undrafted free agent.
Across his nine years in the league, Maulet has suited up for six NFL teams. He has appeared in 85 games and has made 23 starts.
With those opportunities, Maulet has registered four interceptions, 16 pass deflections, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, five sacks, eight quarterback hits, 17 tackles for loss, and he has totaled 225 tackles.

“This will fix the secondary,” a Jets fan said.
“[Expletive] gonna be better than Stephens,” a Jets fan responded.
Jets Should Be Exploring a Different Position on the Roster
The position that the green and white should be doing their homework on is at defensive end.
Depth was an issue all offseason, and it is rearing its ugly head as the Jets are going through the first couple of weeks of the 2025 season.
The Jets‘ starting defensive ends are Jermaine Johnson and Will McDonald. Johnson is coming off a torn Achilles in 2024. When Johnson is right, he is a highly impactful player who can be a game wrecker. However, realistic expectations need to be set for a player coming off a serious injury like that.
McDonald is coming off a career year, registering 10.5 sacks. The 2025 campaign from a pass-rushing perspective is off to a great start with two sacks. However, the former Iowa State product has struggled against the run.
Jets analyst Justin Fried revealed on social media that McDonald “is once again BY FAR PFF’s lowest graded run defending EDGE in the NFL this season.
If the Jets could use some reinforcements at any position, it would be on the defensive line.
