The New York Jets have filled a massive void on the offensive line.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport revealed on social media that the Jets have signed Las Vegas Raiders offensive guard Dylan Parham to a two-year deal with a maximum value of $20 million.
Jets Add Some Much Needed Brutus Beefcake to the Trenches
Parham, 26, will turn 27 before the start of the 2026 season.
He originally entered the league as the No. 90 overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft.
He has spent all four of his seasons in the NFL with the Raiders. During that run, he has appeared in 64 games and has made 63 starts.
In his four-year career, Parham has only missed four career games. He has appeared in at least 15 games in every season that he has played.
Snap Breakdowns for the Jets’ Newest OL
According to Pro Football Focus, Parham has logged most of his snaps at the NFL level at left guard (2,591).
However, he also has experience across the interior.
Parham has logged 992 snaps at right guard in his four-year NFL career, per PFF. He has also been sparingly used at center in a pinch (219 snaps), per PFF.
The Most Likely Result for the Jets
This offseason, the Jets lost both of their left guard options.
John Simpson signed a three-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens for $30 million. Alijah Vera-Tucker signed a three-year deal for $42 million with the New England Patriots.
The rest of the Jets’ starting offensive line is intact from last season:
- Left tackle: Olumuyiwa Fashanu
- Center: Josh Myers
- Right guard: Joe Tippmann
- Right tackle: Armand Membou
The Jets were the only team in the NFL to start the same five offensive linemen throughout the entire season in 2025. Gang Green hadn’t accomplished that feat in a season since 2012.
If the Jets are just keeping things simple, then Parham can simply replace Simpson at left guard, and the rest of the group can stay the same.
Jets Still Have Flexibility to Change Things Up
While that would be the simplest thing to do, that doesn’t mean that’ll be what the Jets decide.
The team employs several versatile offensive linemen.
Tippmann has registered reps at right guard (1,243 snaps) and center (1,720 snaps), per PFF.
Myers has exclusively played center at the NFL level (4,524 snaps), per PFF. However, coming out of high school, Myers was “among the top five guard recruits in the country”, NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein wrote in his pre-draft profile.
In other words, perhaps the Jets can play some musical chairs on the offensive line to ensure they get the best five out there on the field.
There is still more free agency to be decided, and the Jets have the 2026 NFL draft coming up in April to make some more moves in the trenches.
The good news is the Jets now have full flexibility heading into the draft. Parham provides the Jets with a floor option at left guard.
The worst thing that could have happened is the Jets doing nothing to fill that void left by Simpson and AVT. Everyone and their mama would have known the Jets needed a left guard, which would have put them in a place where they could have been sniped on draft day.
