Another day, another injury for the New York Jets.

Head coach Aaron Glenn revealed that running back Isaiah Davis is dealing with a “minor knee” issue and he will be out “maybe a couple of weeks.”

Glenn added that he is “confident” that he will be good to go for the regular season.

A Tough Blow for Camp

This could have been more serious, so from that perspective, that’s good news. However, any missed time in camp is unfortunate.

“The player that nobody talks about, who this coaching staff is very high on, is Isaiah Davis. I mean, when he got in there last year, Isaiah Davis did some good things. I think everyone is assuming that Braelon Allen is gonna win the No. 2 running back job because he’s got the biggest biceps and he looks like Hercules, but that’s not exactly the case,” ESPN’s Rich Cimini said on the “Jets Collective” podcast.

However, with Davis missing time, it is unlikely he will be able to leapfrog Allen on the depth chart over the coming weeks.

More Injury Updates

Head coach Aaron Glenn said pass rusher Kingsley Enagbare is dealing with an “ankle,” and he will be “day-to-day.”

“I’m not really worried about that,” Glenn added.

Enagbare got stepped on earlier in the week at practice. Glenn didn’t confirm whether this was the same issue he was dealing with previously.

Jets cornerback Nahshon Wright has a “hip strain,” but Glenn said he will be “fine.” The Jets’ other cornerback, Brandon Stephens, “just got banged up a little bit,” but he was fine and returned to practice.

Double Dose of Good News for Jets on Injury Front

The No. 50 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, D’Angelo Ponds, has been dealing with a calf issue.

“Ponds is getting close [to returning], he is moving around. The thing is, I don’t want to put a date on it just yet, but he will be ready in the next couple of weeks, I’d say that,” Glenn told the media on Thursday, August 6.

He wasn’t the only player for whom the Jets got good news on.

“Yeah, you know what we actually got some pretty good news the other day [on Kenyon Sadiq]. I’m just crossing my fingers, and still I’ll say a couple of weeks still, but it’s not anything that’s going to keep him out of the regular season,” Glenn explained.

A media member asked if Sadiq has to get “both sides done,” which would involve another surgery for the sports hernia.

“No, the thing is, when you get that surgery, and this is something that I’ve learned, that usually when you have one side of the groin, the doctor normally does the other side too, just to knock both of them out. So I think most people have that procedure,” Glenn said. “Again, good news on him not being out for a long time, it’s just a couple of weeks.”

So far, none of the injuries for the Jets should affect things by the time we get to the regular season.
