The Philadelphia Eagles and general manager Howie Roseman are in the middle of an offseason that has brought a lot of roster change.

In NFL free agency, the Eagles have lost quite a few players from the 2025 roster. Among those players are linebacker Nakobe Dean, pass rusher Jaelan Phillips, wide receiver Jahan Dotson, and safety Reed Blankenship.

While there have been quite a few players heading out of town, Roseman has also been adding new players. Among the additions to the 2026 roster are cornerback Riq Woolen, pass rusher Arnold Ebiketie, wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, and cornerback Jonathan Jones.

That being said, Philadelphia still needs to add more talent to the roster to be a true Super Bowl contender this season. Roseman could dip into the free agency or trade market, but the 2026 NFL Draft will also offer the Eagles a chance to add talent.

Keeping that in mind, Philadelphia has received a new prediction to land another weapon for Jalen Hurts in the draft.

Philadelphia Eagles Predicted to Add Sleeper Wide Receiver

Draft Sharks expert Shane Hallam has projected the Eagles to add Oklahoma wide receiver Deion Burks with the No. 98 overall in the third round of the draft.

Burks is not a player receiving a lot of talk ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Most mid-round selections are not hyped up leading up to a draft.

Even though he hasn’t received a lot of media attention, Burks could be a nice third-round pickup Philadelphia. He is coming off of a 2025 college football season with the Sooners that saw him catch 57 passes for 620 yards and four touchdowns.

Throughout his five-year college football career, the first three of which came with the Purdue Boilermakers, Burks racked up a total of 151 catches for 1,669 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Standing in at 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds, Burks doesn’t bring great size to the field. However, he does bring speed and athleticism. He will have a shot to develop into a quality slot wideout at the NFL level.

What Are the Scouts Saying About Deion Burks?

NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein has weighed in with his opinion on Burks.

“Fifth-year slot receiver who is savvy against zone coverage and crafty after making a catch. Burks does a good job of utilizing his straight-line speed when the ball is in his hands. He struggles to win on vertical routes, though. He creates windows underneath by crisply breaking off short routes,” Zierlein wrote.

“He’s a compact, short-armed target who secures catches through contact. However, his production left something to be desired during his time at Purdue and Oklahoma. Comebacks and curls are often swallowed. Coaching and route work could lead to improvement in those areas. Burks lacks standout measurables, but better quarterback play could unlock a more productive player.”

Whether or not Burks can develop into being a legitimate role player remains to be seen. The potential is there for him to have a bright future.

At the very least, he’s an intriguing name to keep in mind for the Eagles in the third or fourth round of the NFL Draft in late April.
