The Philadelphia Eagles are trying to bounce back from a disappointing offensive campaign in 2025. Analysts can discuss offensive chemistry and play-calling all they want but a major reason the Eagles offense regressed last season was the offensive line.
The fact the Eagles reassembled their line with the same players has given the team hope the unit will be a lot better in 2026. But that’s not guaranteed.
Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski voiced concern about starting left guard Landon Dickerson on the eve of Week 2 in the preseason.
While watching Dickerson this month, Kempski doesn’t see a veteran starter ready to return to his pre-2025 form.
“I had concerns about how Cam Jurgens and Landon Dickerson would look after they did not play to their standard in 2025 because of injuries,” wrote Kempski. “Jurgens has put some of those concerns to bed for me, as he has looked more like the 2024 version of himself than the 2025 version.
“Dickerson has looked more like the 2025 version, in my opinion.”
Dickerson has 77 games of starting experience in his career. He’s also a 3-time Pro Bowler.
However, he snapped his Pro Bowl streak, missing the team in 2025. Then in the offseason, rumors circulated that Dickerson could retire.
What Version of Landon Dickerson Will Eagles Get in 2026?

GettyThe Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski argued the stock of Philadelphia Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson is falling this preseason.
While roster cutdown day is quickly approaching, it’s still very early in the 2026 NFL season. Dickerson has plenty of time to get rolling, and his struggles are just one analyst’s opinion.
Still, it’s not great the lineman is getting poor reviews after a disappointing 2025 campaign.
The Eagles are counting on veterans, such as Dickerson, returning to how they played during the team’s Super Bowl campaign in 2024. In that season, Dickerson made the Pro Bowl for a third straight year.
During 2025, he missed two games for the first time since 2021. When on the field, Dickerson also wasn’t the same dominating force.
Dickerson Clarified Retirement Talk

GettyPhiladelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson clarified this month that he didn’t consider retirement in the NFL offseason.
While Dickerson wasn’t the same player in 2025, the 27-year-old didn’t consider retiring after last season’s disappointing year.
Dickerson explained that to reporters early in training camp after an offseason of retirement speculation for the guard.
“No,” said Dickerson when asked about if he mulled retirement, via 94WIP.com’s Eliot Shorr-Parks. “I’m not sure where you guys got that.”
Dickerson also added that he’s not concerned about the cumulative toll on his body at this point in his career either.
The guard, though, did tell the media he thought he came back from undergoing meniscus surgery last summer too soon. That fact could change how Dickerson deals with injuries, specifically how hard he tries to play through them, going forward.
Dickerson, though, should help anchor a unit that might be one of the top offensive lines in the NFL again this fall. The unit will be playing under a new position coach — Chris Kuper. He will replace Jeff Stoutland, who served as Philadelphia’s offensive line coach for 13 seasons.
