The Pittsburgh Steelers will likely need a new quarterback for the 2026 NFL season. But the team could also use more outside playmakers to pair along with veteran receiver D.K. Metcalf.
With that in mind, A to Z Sports’ Travis May predicted the team to target the latter in Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion. In an NFL mock draft released Friday, May projected the Steelers to grab Concepcion at No. 21 overall in the first round.
“It’s clear after watching the Pittsburgh Steelers offense sputter in pivotal moments down the stretch this season that the team needs more wide receiver help,” May wrote. “DK Metcalf was the only Steelers wide receiver to eclipse even 400 yards last year. Enter, KC Concepcion.
“The former Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver proved that he was a complete player this past year, averaging over seven yards after the catch per reception, 2.5 yards per route run, and doing much of his work vertically down the field (something he hadn’t done much in years prior). He should be able to unlock a new gear for the Pittsburgh aerial attack.”
Concepcion made the consensus All-American team as an all-purpose player. As a punt returner at Texas A&M during 2025, he averaged 18.2 yards per return and scored two touchdowns.
On offense, he posted 61 catches for 919 receiving yards and nine scores along with 75 rushing yards on 10 carries. Concepcion also scored a rushing touchdown during the 2025 campaign.
