NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris will meet with the Las Vegas Raiders next week.

Ex-Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris visited the reigning Super Bowl champions this week. To begin April, Harris will see the Las Vegas Raiders.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Friday that Harris has planned a visit with the Raiders for Thursday, April, 2.

Harris is looking for a new home after playing just three games for the Los Angeles Chargers during 2025. The running back suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during Week 3 in September.

Harris spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Steelers. While Harris was injured last year, he never missed a contest in four campaigns with Pittsburgh.

He also rushed for at least 1,000 yards in all four of his Steelers seasons.

Najee Harris Set to Visit Raiders: Report

The Raiders will be Harris’s second visit this offseason. On Wednesday, the running back saw the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks would probably be a better opportunity for Harris in 2026. Seattle is trying to replace reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker in its backfield.

In Las Vegas, the Raiders have former No. 6 overall pick Ashton Jeanty in their backfield. Las Vegas doesn’t have a lot of depth behind Jeanty, though, which could make the team an intriguing landing spot for Harris.

The veteran running back shared the load in Pittsburgh toward the end of his Steelers tenure. Harris and Jaylen Warren were a formidable duo from 2023-24.

Harris was the lead back while Warren provided explosive plays off the bench.

Despite three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons to begin his career, Harris didn’t see the fifth-year option in his rookie contract exercised in May 2024. That surprised some pundits, but it didn’t necessarily close the book on Harris’s future in Pittsburgh.

In 2024, Harris turned in another similar season — 1,000 yards with few splash runs. The Steelers then allowed the running back to leave in free agency last spring.

Harris signed a 1-year, $5.25 million deal with the Chargers in March 2025.

How Will Harris Bounce Back From Rough 2025?

Harris appeared to be on his way to NFL stardom after his first season. The Steelers drafted him in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft and promptly gave him a league-high 381 touches as a rookie. He ran for 1,200 yards.

But Harris posted three good but not great campaigns with the Steelers after that. Then, he experienced a nightmarish year with the Chargers.

Harris suffered a “superficial” eye injury during a July 4 fireworks accident in 2025. The running back opened training camp with the Chargers on the NFI list. He missed the entire preseason because of the injury.

Harris made it back in time for the regular season. But he wasn’t a major part of the team’s offense. That may have been due to the lack of offseason repetitions.

On September 21, Harris sustained his season-ending Achilles injury.

In three contests with the Chargers, Harris ran for 61 yards on 15 carries. He averaged 4.1 yards per rush. Harris also had three receptions for 25 yards.

If the veteran running back doesn’t land with the Seahawks, his best opportunity might be in a change-of-pace role for a team such as the Raiders. In that kind of situation, just one injury would give Harris another chance to start in the NFL.

His best bet is likely to sign a 1-year deal and then outplay the contract to earn more money next year.
