Inks deal with Kansas City

Pennel signed with the Chiefs on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The 34-year-old defensive lineman was dropped by the Bengals on Tuesday but has since found a new home in Kansas City. Pennel appeared in all eight of Cincinnati's games this season prior to his release, recording 15 total tackles. He's expected to help fortify the Chiefs' interior defensive line after Omarr Norman-Lott (knee) was placed on IR.

Pennel will visit Kansas City for a tryout Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports. The Bengals granted Pennel's request to be released Tuesday, and the veteran defensive tackle is wasting no time as he seeks a new opportunity in the league. Across eight regular-season appearances with Cincinnati, Pennel made 15 tackles (four solo).

Let go by Cincinnati

The Bengals released Pennel on Tuesday. Pennel was signed to the Bengals' active roster in early September and served in a rotational role at defensive tackle, but his services are no longer required in Cincinnati. The 12th-year pro logged 15 tackles (four solo) across eight regular-season games for the Bengals prior to his release.
