The San Francisco 49ers are in their offseason, but Kyle Shanahan and Fred Warner will be taking a break from that. On Feb. 4, NBC Sports announced that the Niners’ head coach and linebacker will serve as analysts for the Super Bowl LX pregame show.

Former Los Angeles Rams star and Super Bowl winner Aaron Donald and Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward will also join Warner and Shanahan on the pregame panel.

Maria Taylor will serve as the lead host of NBC’s Super Bowl LX Pregame Show for the first time, joined by Jac Collinsworth and Noah Eagle. The analyst group includes Super Bowl champions Tony Dungy, Jason Garrett, Rodney Harrison, and Devin McCourty, as well as former NFL quarterback Chris Simms.

Additional contributors include NBC Sports insider Mike Florio, NBC News analyst Steve Kornacki, fantasy football and sports betting expert Matthew Berry, and Access Hollywood’s Kit Hoover. The Super Bowl LX Pregame Show airs Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock, with Road to the Super Bowl beginning at Noon ET.

Fred Warner Offers Injury Update

Warner has been making the media rounds during Super Bowl week, so it comes as no surprise that NBC Sports tapped the 49ers star to serve as an analyst for the game. Moreover, during a Feb. 3 appearance on “Up & Adams,” Warner shared an injury update as he prepares for the 2026 NFL season.

“120 percent,” Warner told host Kay Adams. “I feel great. Best I’ve ever been.”

Moreover, Warner confirmed that he was ready to return this season if the Niners had gotten past the Seattle Seahawks to reach the NFC title game. The 49ers linebacker had returned to practice before the divisional playoff game against Seattle, signaling that he was close to a return.

“I actually think I surprised myself throughout the healing process with how quickly I did heal from this injury because it’s one of those ones,” Warner added. “It looks horrific when it happens. It was honestly like a fear of mine. I had seen that happen to other people, and I’m like, oh, my gosh, it looks horrible.

“But surprisingly, once they put it all back together after surgery, and then you start getting into rehab, you start feeling way better and getting that range of motion back, the strength back, and you really pop back pretty quick. So it was very true that I could have played.”

Fred Warner Sends Message to New 49ers DC

Meanwhile, during a different media appearance, Warner, speaking with NBC Sports Bay Area, sent a message to his new defensive coordinator, Rahem Morris, who will look to make the 49ers’ defense even better next season.

“That we’re ready to work, man,” Warner said on Feb. 3. “It’s not a bunch of guys who are set in their ways at all. I’m going into year nine, and I’m ready to learn and adapt to whatever he’s giving to us.

“So, we’re all ready to work, we’re all hungry to get back to being dominant and give ourselves a chance to win a Super Bowl.”
