The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield is enjoying quite the year after a season plagued by the team’s injuries. They never reached their full roster health for the majority of the season and missed playoff contention by a slight margin.
Mayfield shone in that offense, however. He started all 17 games, throwing for 3,693 yards, 26 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 63.2% of his passes. With a full arsenal this time around, Tampa Bay will be on the quest for revenge.
Four months before the NFL season, Mayfield and his wife, Emily, welcomed their second child, son Maverick, in April. The couple is now the proud parents of a son and a daughter, who turned 2 last month.
Amid what will surely be a busy time at home, they took to Instagram and announced another big offseason piece of news.
Mayfield and his wife, Emily, will be sponsoring the sixth edition of Bike with Mike again this year. It’s an initiative to raise resources for mental health.
“We are so excited to be sponsoring the 6th annual Bike with Mike event again this year, supporting Omaha’s Community Alliance,” the couple announced.
“I am from Omaha, Nebraska and it’s honoring my late friend, Mike Kudalek,” Emily said.
“Community Alliance serves anyone seeking mental health or substance use treatment,” Mayfield added. “They served over 6,300 individuals just last year and Bike with Mike played a huge role in that.”
The event last year generated more than $245,000 and attracted more than 530 participants. It reached a cumulative total of more than $1 million in five years. This year, Mayfield and Emily are planning for an even bigger success.

Bike with Mike is not their only endeavour. The Mayfields are known for their charitable nature.
Their most innovative philanthropic push is the Giving Bowl, a bracket-style fundraiser built around Tampa Bay nonprofits. The foundation ran the 2026 edition of the event from March 16 to April 3, pairing five athletes with five local charities.
Each team advanced by raising more money than its opponent. The winner could secure up to $50,000 for its charity.
The foundation said each charity received a minimum grant($2,500), then added more money at each round($7,500 in the second round and finalists got $10,000). The champion collected a $30,000 bonus on top of earlier grants and donations.
Scholarship Work Stays Central To Baker Mayfield’s Offseason
The Mayfields also reopened applications for the second year of the BE Resilient Walk On Scholarship on March 9.
The foundation will again award two $10,000 scholarships to active walk-on student-athletes. Applicants must be enrolled as sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students and meet academic and roster requirements. The application deadline is June 15, 2026.
The foundation says the program recognizes the “underdog spirit” of walk-ons who “show up, work hard and rise to the occasion.”
The scholarship’s first recipients were Jakeb Snyder of Oklahoma and Charles Emanuel III of Florida, giving the program an early footprint in college football.
For Mayfield and Emily, the offseason has become more than just family time. Besides welcoming the fourth family member, it also includes recurring philanthropy with a local focus.
