The Tennesee Titans need an OC, and Kliff Kingsbury could provide the franchise with a new scheme.

The Tennessee Titans continue to make NFL news, as the franchise’s offensive coordinator search just added two more heavyweight names to the interview schedule.

NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday that the Titans plan to interview former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich on Monday for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

The move signals Tennessee’s urgency to fill the role as the Brian Daboll waiting game continues to drag on. Daboll remains the Titans‘ preferred candidate, but his availability hinges on whether the Buffalo Bills or Las Vegas Raiders hire him as their next head coach.

Kingsbury just became available after mutually parting ways with Washington on Jan. 6, following a disappointing 5-12 season in 2025. The split came despite Kingsbury’s success developing rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in 2024, when the Commanders went 12-5 and advanced to the NFC Championship Game.

Working with Daniels, Kingsbury helped produce what many considered the best rookie quarterback season ever. Daniels completed 69 percent of his passes and set the rookie QB rushing record with 891 yards, earning Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

That quarterback development pedigree is exactly what Tennessee needs for rookie signal-caller Cam Ward. Kingsbury has a long history of elevating quarterbacks, including Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech, and Kyler Murray with the Arizona Cardinals. He also spent the 2023 season at USC as a senior offensive analyst, mentoring Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams on his transition to the NFL.

Kingsbury went 28-37-1 as Cardinals head coach from 2019-22, including an 11-6 playoff season in 2021 when Arizona ranked in the top 10 in both scoring and total offense, according to Pro Football History. Before that, he spent four years as Texas Tech’s head coach and time as offensive coordinator at Houston and Texas A&M.

Stenavich Brings Packers’ Offensive Success to the Table

Stenavich has served as Green Bay’s offensive coordinator since 2022 after working his way up from offensive line coach. Under his direction, the Packers have maintained one of the NFL’s most consistent offenses despite quarterback transitions from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love.

The 42-year-old Wisconsin native played offensive tackle at Michigan before spending time in the NFL with Carolina, Green Bay, and Dallas. He began his coaching career in the college ranks before joining San Francisco as assistant offensive line coach in 2017-18.

The Daboll Factor Still Looms Large

These Monday interviews suggest the Titans are building contingency plans while Daboll pursues head coaching opportunities. As Garafolo reported Sunday on NFL Game Day Morning, Tennessee “would like to hire him ASAP,” but Daboll interviewed well with Buffalo and remains in the mix for both the Bills and Raiders jobs.

Arthur Smith, who was previously a candidate after spending nine seasons with Tennessee, including two as offensive coordinator from 2019-20, is now off the board after accepting Ohio State’s offensive coordinator position on January 24.

Paul Kuharsky has reported that Thad Lewis will also interview with the Titans on Monday.
