It's a homecoming no one expected as the Titans signed this former Volunteers wideout.

A homecoming is in the works as the Tennessee Titans signed a new wideout. This wide receiver spent 2024 with the Las Vegas Raiders after going undrafted.

Having played in Tennessee for five years, it’s the perfect reunion after Treylon Burks injury. Burks has been plagued with injuries throughout his career as Cam Ward loses a key weapon on offense.

Titans Sign Ramel Keyton for Much Needed WR Depth

In eight games with the Raiders last season, Ramel Keyton recorded just one catch for seven yards. He was targeted three times in those eight games, with his lone catch coming against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Keyton was targeted twice that game, and he had one target two weeks later against the Miami Dolphins. Other than those two games in November, his name was kept out of the stat sheet.

Dating back to 2022-23, Keyton averaged over 18 yards per reception. He had 11 touchdowns in his final two seasons with the Volunteers. Recording 66 receptions in that span, he finished his college career with a 642 yard season.

Totaling 562 yards the year prior, Keyton continued to get better throughout his time in Tennessee. Now, he’ll return to the state he made his name in with hopes of impressing in training camp.

Tom Pelissero reported that Keyton will report to camp on Monday, July 28. The Titans had Sunday off, even though that’s when the signing was made official.

His comments on the former Volunteer were short, “The 6-foot-3 Keyton spent last season with the Raiders after a stellar preseason.” If Keyton is able to repeat his pre-season success in 2025, he has a strong chance to make the roster.

Currently, ESPN has Keyton listed as WR4 behind Tyler Lockett, Chimere Dike, and James Proche II. Other than Burks, the Titans have other key receivers such as Calvin Ridley and Van Jefferson.

Titans Fans React to the Signing

Tennessee is no stranger to Keyton, even though some fans were left clueless on the move. The Titans know that he didn’t do much in the regular season last year, but his preseason performance showed he has the skills. It’s hard to compare the preseason to anything else, but Keyton remains a viable option for Ward’s offense.

“Keyton has the Key to the offense now!” this fan said as a play on words. Obviously, he’s not coming in as WR1, but his college career suits him well to immediately become a fan favorite.

This fan commented, “That’s preseason legend Ramel Keyton.” For those that follow the preseason, they haven’t forgotten about Keyton’s performance last year. While it didn’t translate to much on the Raiders, the Titans are more than ready to take a chance on the second-year player.

One individual said, “Interesting” with the eyeball emoji as he pointed out it will “Get Cam some help.”

This account pulled up Keyton’s stats, “Posted 5 receptions for 84 yards in the preseason last year” as someone else called him a, “Vols Legend.”

ESPN reported that Burks fractured his collarbone as the Titans continue to regret their trade. Burks hasn’t done much with the team, and now he’ll be sidelined once again as Keyton looks to make his presence felt.
