Wide receiver K.J. Osborn hasn’t played in the NFL since his appearance with the Washington Commanders during the 2024 season. But the veteran wideout is still pursing his next opportunity.
He will get one in the AFC South this season.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the Tennessee Titans have agreed to a 1-year deal for Osborn.
The Commanders claimed Osborn off waivers in December 2024. He finished the campaign with Washington, playing in one regular season game.
The wideout didn’t have a reception in his lone game for the Commanders. He played 19 offensive snaps.
Re-signing with the team, Osborn began the 2025 offseason with Washington. The Commanders released him as part of their roster cuts at the end of the 2025 preseason.
Former Commanders WR K.J. Osborn Signs With Titans: Report
The veteran wideout will be trying to make an NFL comeback of sorts in Tennessee.
After the Commanders released Osborn, the receiver didn’t receive another opportunity immediately. He eventually joined the Atlanta Falcons practice squad in November.
The veteran finished the season with the Falcons, who then released the wideout in January.
Osborn began his NFL career as the No. 176 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft for the Minnesota Vikings. He spent four years with the Vikings, often serving as a starter opposite Justin Jefferson.
After not catching a pass as a rookie, Osborn had 50 catches, 655 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2021. That receiving yardage and seven scores remain a career high.
In 2022, he registered a career-best 60 receptions.
Over four seasons with the Vikings, Osborn posted 158 catches, 1,845 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 59 games. He started 30 contests.
During the 2024 offseason, the receiver signed 1-year, $4 million deal with the New England Patriots. In seven games for the Patriots, Osborn caught seven passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
New England released waived the receiver in December 2024. That led to Osborn joining the Commanders.
Commanders WR Depth Chart Entering 2026
Osborn wasn’t necessarily the receiver boost the Commanders desired during their run to the NFC championship game in January 2025. But Washington has high hopes a couple veterans can do better for the team’s offense this fall.
The Commanders added both veterans Van Jefferson and Dyami Brown in NFL free agency. They are expected to supply depth behind starters Terry McLaurin, Treylon Burks and slot receiver Luke McCaffrey.
It wouldn’t be surprising, though, if Washington also adds a wideout early in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Commanders have to replace the team’s leading receiver, Deebo Samuel, from last season. McLaurin was second on the team with 582 receiving yards while averaging 15.3 yards per catch.
Burks had 10 catches for 130 yards and a score in eight games while McCaffrey had 196 receiving yards in nine contests.
Coincidentally, Jefferson played for Osborn’s new team last year — the Titans. In Tennessee, Jefferson registered 29 catches for 350 yards and a score.
Jefferson will turn 30 years old in July. His best season was 2021 when he submitted 50 receptions for 802 yards.
Brown is returning to Washington after a year in Jacksonville. Brown had 20 catches, 227 receiving yards and a score for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025.
From 2021-24, Brown posted 59 catches, 784 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 63 games with the Commanders.
