The Dallas Stars vs. the Minnesota Wild is a highly entertaining first-round series in the NHL playoffs. After the Wild took game five, the Dallas Stars are now on the brink of elimination, as Minnesota is up 3-2 in the series.

The series also shifts to Minnesota, which will have home-ice advantage in game six, but if Dallas can salvage the series on Thursday, there will be a game seven at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Both of these teams enter the NHL playoffs with Stanley Cup aspirations, but unfortunately, both can’t move on. Let’s get into some of the betting markets and how you can watch this game six with massive playoff implications.

There are three main ways you can watch the Dallas Stars and Minnesota Wild square off in this huge game six of the first round in the NHL playoffs.

The game is streaming on HBO Max, and for those with cable, it will be shown on your local TNT or TruTV channels. Puck drop will be at 7:40 p.m. EST.

Stars vs. Wild Betting Preview: Odds

After being down 2-1 in the series, the Wild have fought back to win each of the last two contests against the Wild. Earlier this week, Minnesota won in OT 3-2 to tie the series at two apiece. On Tuesday, the Wild beat the Stars 4-2 to earn a one-game advantage in the series, and now have a chance to put away Dallas in game six.

However, with how tightly contested this series is, most fans and analysts believed coming into the series that this one would go the full seven games. We will see on Thursday night.

Let’s get into some of the large betting markets. Odds courtesy of DraftKings, and are subject to change:

Moneyline: Dallas Stars (+102, $10 to win $10.02), Minnesota Wild (-122, $12 to win $10)

Puck line (spread): Dallas Stars +1.5 (-258), Minnesota Wild -1.5 (+210)

Over/Under goals (5.5): Over (-118), Under (-102)

Prediction Time!!

This one, as you can tell by the betting lines, is purely a toss-up, as it’s been for pretty much every single game in this series.

The safest bet on the board is Dallas Stars to keep it within two goals (+1.5) at -250+. However, you then leave yourself open for the Wild to be up one goal in the final minutes, the Stars pull their goalie, and boom, the Wild win by two.

The best bet I’m going with here is the Dallas Stars to win outright. A game seven has felt in the cards for this entire series, so why not bet it? They’re also + money, but the sportsbooks are clearly indicating that this is basically a coin flip.

I expect Stars’ goalie Jake Oettinger to play much better in this one, and for the Stars to finally break through when at even strength.

If you enjoy this type of story, leave a comment, and I’ll continue to pump them out as the NHL Stanley Cup progresses further!
