The Minnesota Wild are still in full pursuit of Rangers center Vincent Trocheck as the trade deadline nears.
Michael Russo of The Athletic confirms they still have “significant interest” in getting a deal done. A trade package for the 32-year-old remains unclear. However, fans should expect it to include at least one prospect they don’t want to part ways with. Think Danila Yurov or Jesper Wallstedt.
Amid all of the trade rumors, Trocheck himself has sent a strong message to the NHL and teams interested in acquiring him.

Trocheck recently talked with reporters ahead of the Rangers’ game against the Blue Jackets on Monday night.
“If I’m gonna get traded to a team that’s in the same situation as us, then I don’t want to move. That sounds miserable in a new city. I am 32 years old. I would like to win a Stanley Cup, so if I am going to get traded, I would like to go to a team that’s winning, or has a chance to win.”
Trocheck touched on being involved in his own trade talks.
“I feel like I’m as involved as I can be. I only have a 12-team no-trade clause. It’s not like I have full protection and I need to be in with them on every single phone call.
But I mean, me and [GM Chris Drury] have a great relationship. He’s been very open and honest with me and transparent, so I feel like I get as many calls as a player could get.”
Russo confirmed that the Minnesota Wild are not on Trocheck’s 12-team no-trade list. Still, the center prefers to stay on the east coast for personal reasons.
Kirill Kaprizov Breaks Minnesota Wild All-Time Goal Record

Superstar forward Kirill “The Thrill” Kaprizov is now the franchise’s all time goal scorer with 220.
He passes Marion Gaborik at 219, and is surely to add a large amount more to his record. As of now, it seems the only player that will be on his heels eventually is teammate Matt Boldy.
Boldy is already 6th all-time with 137, currently 16 behind the active Joel Eriksson Ek. Boldy is a couple days less than four years younger than Kaprizov, surely holds the ability to pass him one day.
Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy are tied for the lead on the Wild for goals scored at 35. Kaprizov stands now at 75 points on the season, and Boldy at 72.
It should also be celebrated how well the Wild handled the red-hot Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night. Well, at least, red-hot before the Olympic break. The Lightning have lost all 3 contest since the NHL’s return late last month. Going into the break, they went 20-1-1 in the 22 games leading up.
The Wild needed a response after two ugly losses back-to-back against a middling Mammoth team and a bad Blues team. They surely gave that response tonight, bludgeoning the Lightning at home by 4 goals.
Their home record improves to 18-7-7 on the year, and are back to 9 points behind (9) the Avs for the Central/NHL lead in points (91).
