The Toronto Maple Leafs have been without goaltender Anthony Stolarz for over two months now, as he hasn’t played since the second week of November.
However, there is encouraging news to share regarding his status. The Maple Leafs have announced that Stolarz has been assigned to the Toronto Marlies, their American Hockey League affiliate, for a conditioning loan.
The Maple Leafs, who had been rotating between the tandem of Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby, will be happy to have their goaltender eventually back in the crease for them.

Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltender Anthony Stolarz Revealed It Was A Nerve Issue Keeping Him Out Of Action
Stolarz recently disclosed that it was a nerve issue that has kept him out of game actions for the Maple Leafs for over two months now.
“I had to kind of let it settle down a little bit,” Stolarz said. “It’s not like a bruise where it goes away. It was just something that I just kind of had to let heal on its own. And, you know, it just took a little while.”
Stolarz, who was back at a full practice session, was a welcome sight for the rest of the team.
“It’s great to see him in full practice,” Leafs coach Craig Berube said. “This road trip, I think, was really important, that he came on the trip and (was) around the guys and getting acclimated again and getting some practice time at the same time.”
Earlier in the week, Berube indicated that while there’s not an exact timetable for when Stolarz could be back, he’s getting closer.
“I don’t have a date like targeted, but he’s on this trip so he can get time with us and be around us and get practice time with us. So, that’s good,” Berube said prior to Monday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche. “I think he’s getting pretty close. Just needs the reps, needs the conditioning, that sort of thing.”
