Clash in Paris saw a few changes made after Naomi's shocking announcement.

A shocking announcement from the Women’s World Champion last week left the WWE Universe in shock. Naomi revealing her pregnancy left a ton of question marks with the women’s division on Monday Night Raw.

Clash in Paris is set to take place on Sunday, August 31. With Naomi scheduled to defend her title against Stephanie Vaquer, Raw GM Adam Pearce was forced to make a change to the scheduled card.

Adam Pearce Reveals That Stephanie Vaquer Will Have to Wait For Her Women’s Championship Match

Clash in Paris will no longer feature a Women’s World Championship match. Naomi’s championship vacancy has left a void in the August 31 event scheduled to take place at the Paris La Defense Arena.

Instead, Becky Lynch will travel to Paris to defend her Intercontinental Championship against the legendary Nikki Bella. A women’s championship match will still be on the card even though Vaquer’s title bout has to wait.

“I need to talk to you,” Pearce said on the latest episode of Raw. “Look, before we go any further, you are the No. 1 contender for the Women’s World Championship. No one is taking that away from you. With the Naomi situation and the title being vacant, Paris cannot happen.”

Pearce continued, “I know you’re disappointed, and so am I, but you will have your championship match. I already have an opponent in mind, I just need a week to finalize some details. Give me a week, I’ll let you know who you’re facing and when the championship match is.”

At the time of writing, Vaquer’s announcement and Dominik Mysterio defending his IC title against AJ Styles are scheduled for the September 1 edition of Raw.

Updated WWE Clash in Paris Card

Five matches remain on the card for WWE’s next Premium Live Event. Nanterre, Frankfreich is in store for two championship matches, pending any additional matches are added on Friday Night Smackdown.

Seth Rollins WWE World Heavyweight Championship defense against CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso is the only other title match on the card. Paul Heyman’s other client, Bronson Reed will be in action against Roman Reigns. It marks Reigns first singles match since the inaugural Raw on Netflix back on January 6.

Elsewhere, John Cena’s retirement tour continues to be in full swing. He’ll face Logan Paul in a continuation of their tag team match back at Money in the Bank. Just a few weeks ago on Smackdown, Cena teamed with his former enemy, Cody Rhodes, to take on Paul and Drew McIntyre.

At this point, Sheamus and Rusev have been feuding for the better part of two months. They first met in a fatal four way King of the Ring qualifier, a match eventually won by “Main Event” Jey Uso.

Two weeks later, they squared off in a 20-minute singles match. Rusev got the better of Sheamus in that contest before Sheamus got his win back a month later. Their third match ended in a double count out which set up a “Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match” at Clash in Paris.
