WWE superstar CM Punk had a shocking moment of anger after WrestleMania 42 when fans kept following him and his wife AJ Lee in a hotel. The Las Vegas setting makes it hard for celebrities to escape the crowd when heading to their hotel room after a live show. Punk lost his main event match to Roman Reigns last night, but he was more upset about something outside of the ring.

Punk slapped the phone out of a fan’s hand for using it to film Lee and fellow wrestler Bayley embracing in a hug after the event. Many wrestlers have complained about spaces like airports where fans follow them and try to get autographs at the expense of mutual respect.
However, this incident felt a bit more ridiculous since fans were all over the hotel lobby as wrestlers entered after the massive event. Punk was not happy about his wife being filmed without her and got more physical than wrestlers usually do with fans. Others got in between Punk and the fan to separate them until the fan left the area.
Other Fans Revealed The Back Story
The anger from Punk towards this fan apparently started before the moment filmed. Other fans commented on social media posts about being in the hotel and seeing the situation completely unfold.
AJ Lee turned down the fan’s request for a picture since the wrestlers were trying to avoid the massive group of fans after one of the most stressful nights of the year. WWE talents typically like to unwind after performing at the most important WWE event that they prepare all year for.
Punk was unhappy that the fan kept following them after his wife denied his request for a photo and started to film her without her approval. Fans sided with Punk since the fan was already told they weren’t interested in photos and kept following the wrestlers during personal moments interacting with each other.
AJ Lee Was Possibly Saying Goodbye To Bayley
Rumors have circulated that Lee is done with WWE for the time being after posting a “thank you” message on social media after losing her title to Becky Lynch. The tone of her message implied she’d be gone for at least for the foreseeable future from WWE television.
Bayley is from the generation of female wrestlers who found inspiration from AJ and developed a bond with her. Many fans believe that Lee’s best match from this recent WWE comeback run featured her facing Bayley since they told a really good story in the ring together.
The fan filmed a moment of the two hugging that could have been a farewell meeting if AJ is indeed done with WWE moving forward. Punk being on high alert for this moment and just hours after his big WrestleMania main event led to the tense situation. Even though most fans side with Punk here, he is fortunate the situation didn’t escalate further to create terrible headlines for WWE.
