WWE fans were flabbergasted when Travis Scott was the sole intereferer during the John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes match at WrestleMania 41. Most people were expecting The Rock to show up in Las Vegas, especially after he was so involved with the John Cena heel turn at Elimination Chamber. Unfortunately, The Rock has not returned to WWE TV.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE pulled Travis Scott from the WWE 2k25 video game as a DLC downloadable character. WrestlingInc.com is reporting that Scott had a dispute with WWE management and was dropped by the company. That is also why many WWE superstars have been publicly criticizing Scott on social media and WWE television lately.
Travis Scott leaving WWE so unceremoniously is a black cloud over almost six months of WWE programming. WWE fans viewed Scott as a “representative” of The Rock. To “The Final Boss,” Travis Scott was enough help to get John Cena over Cody Rhodes. Scott also injured Rhodes at Elimination Chamber as well. If the story just stops there, WWE TV has yet another big plothole.

Was The Rock Involved in Travis Scott’s WWE Departure?
FandomWire.com reported that The Rock was not the reason why Travis Scott’s relationship turned sour with WWE. It’s unclear if the former or someone like Triple H was responsible for bringing Scott into the company initially, but it’s clear that the rapper did not put in much effort.
EliteRocker X also reported via X that Stevie Richards, a highly respected professional wrestler and current wrestling analyst, claims that the only reason WWE featured Travis Scott so heavily is that TKO CEO Ari Emanuel promised his friend the spot as a “favor.” According to Richards, WWE saw Scott as “lazy” and was difficult to work with as well.
There was some speculation that Travis Scott would continue to work with WWE until The Rock returned. The rumor mill was abuzz about Cena and Scott teaming to face Cody Rhodes and another celebrity. However, WWE eventually replaced Scott with Logan Paul, and Jelly Roll has a tag match alongside Randy Orton at SummerSlam this weekend.
Travis Scott has burned his bridge with WWE. Now, it’s unclear how his involvement in The Rock and John Cena dynamic will be written off TV. However, the real issue here is The Rock coming back to address the elephant in the room. Why was The Rock using Travis Scott of all people? If Scott is gone for good, The People’s Champion may not be around anytime soon either.

GettyWWE fans still have a lot of unanswered questions about Travis Scott’s involvement at WrestleMania 41.
Did Travis Scott Ruin John Cena’s Heel Turn?
WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre appeared during a recent Impaulsive podcast. He argued that Travis Scott ruined what should have been one of the company’s biggest moment’s ever. “Do a six-minute run-in at WrestleMania and screw up our damn main event. Travis Scott, piece of s***!” Suffice to say, the WWE locker room is likely thrilled that Scott has been shown the door.
The WWE Universe has dealt with far more insane plotholes or unfinished stories throughout its history. That part will be fine. WWE fans who attended WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas were livid. Many of them spent thousands of dollars to have “their weekend ruined by Travis Scott.”
The fact is Travis Scott showing up at WrestleMania 41 instead of The Rock may have damaged John Cena’s heel turn. The truth is sometimes celebrities can make a WWE match more fun, but sometimes they can be completely unnecessary. The fans have no problem calling that out.
