For the first time in history, WWE will hold a Premium Live Event in Italy called Clash in Italy on Sunday, May 31. The company made the announcement on Wednesday, confirming Nick Khan‘s initial tease about a PLE in Italy back in September.
In the official press release, WWE will hold Clash in Paris inside the Inalpi Arena in Turin, which is one of the biggest cities in the northern part of the country. It’s part of a huge European Summer tour that will start on May 29 in Barcelona, Spain and conclude on June 22 in London, England.
WWE president explains why more PLEs are not in the United States
Nick Khan told SportsBusiness in September the reasoning for WWE’s decision to have a lot of Premium Live Events outside the United States.
“Almost half of our Premium Live Events take place outside of the United States now. We believe WWE is a global property, we believe the results on these shows both in terms of attendance and viewership [locally and globally] have been significant. We have seen year-over-year increases for viewership on each one,” Khan said.
Last year, WWE held Elimination Chamber in Toronto, Canada, Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Clash in Paris in Paris, France and Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia.
European Summer Tour Schedule
After WrestleMania season, WWE will take their talents to Europe for a month-long summer tour of multiple countries like Spain, Italy, Portugal, France and the United Kingdom.
The tour begins on May 29 in Barcelona, Spain for a live episode of SmackDown. It’s followed by Clash in Italy on May 31 in Turin, then an episode of RAW in the same arena on June 1 the following night.
It becomes an even busier schedule with three countries in three days: June 2 in Strasbourg, France, June 3 in Lisbon, Portugal and Madrid, Spain in June 4.
On June 5, SmackDown emanates in Bologna, Italy, with two more dates in the country on June 6 in Rome and June 7 in Florence. The superstars don’t get a day off since June 8 is another live episode of RAW in Paris, France.
There is huge gap between the next schedule, which is June 22 in London, England for an episode of RAW. However, it would not be surprising if more dates are added, likely house shows in the United Kingdom.
WrestleMania 43 to be held outside the United States
As WWE continues to conquer the world, it will take WrestleMania overseas in 2027. WrestleMania 43 is going to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next year. There’s still no word regarding the dates and venue, but it’s expected to be a huge and historic event.
Riyadh already hosted the first-ever traditional Royal Rumble PLE last January, which saw Roman Reigns and Liv Morgan win the men’s and women’s Rumble matches, respectively. Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship, while Gunther put AJ Styles to sleep to send him out to retirement.
With WrestleMania 43 expected to have a huge budget, one of the biggest names already in discussion to appear is none other than The Rock.
