Former WWE star Braun Strowman made a highly controversial claim about where his rivalry with Roman Reigns stands in WWE history.
Speaking with Jonah of Rewind Recap Relive, Strowman stated that he’d put his feud with the Tribal Chief ranks among the company’s best.
While reflecting on his in-ring rivalry with Reigns, Strowman said:
“I’d put the feud I had with Roman Reigns through 2017, 18, 19 into 20 up against any feud in the history of the business and I’m going to say that it’s as good, or f**king better. I could be biased, but that’s my opinion.”
Strowman explained what made their rivalry so intense, pointing out the massive carnage left in the wake of their battles. From backstage brawls to ambulance spots, Strowman believes his feud with Reigns never had a dull moment.
“Roman—the ambulance and all that—yeah, he crushed me in the ambulance, I flipped him over in the ambulance. I think we’ve literally pretty much committed murder on each other at least three times apiece throughout that feud. So many times.”
WWE Fans React to Bold Braun Strowman Take
Strowman certainly deserves his flowers for helping Reigns’ ascension to the main event scene.
Their full-throttle altercations delivered several insane spots and helped establish Reigns as a WWE juggernaut.
Still, to consider them the best rivalry in WWE history is a controversial take, to say the least.
In response, WWE fans have weighed in on Strowman’s opinion.
“I don’t know about this big fella,” one user commented.
“It was a much better feud than anyone expected. Braun is of course delusional calling it the greatest ever,” another replied.
“It had entertaining moments, but it ain’t top 10 or top 20. Maybe top 50,” another chimed in.
“Check him for CTE stat,” a user joked.
While Strowman’s opinion was largely met with disagreement, some WWE fans praised his feud with Reigns.
“I’ll give him credit, it was one of the better ones during that time period. I always enjoyed their matches,” a Meta user commented.
“I mean, it was both of their best rivalry at the time. They definitely had good chemistry against each other, and it showed,” another wrote.
Braun Strowman Shuts Down WWE Return Rumors
Braun Strowman was a part of WWE’s roster cuts in May 2025. While many of his peers have returned to the ring, Stroman has remained out of action.
Previously, Strowman noted that he was semi-retired from professional wrestling as he looked to expand his acting career. He later reiterated in October that he was taking a break from the ring.
The former WWE Universal Champion recently took to social media to provide an update on his wrestling future, and stated that there is no clear path for his in-ring return.
“For everyone asking when I’m getting back in the ring. When a dump truck of gold blocks gets dumped on my porch!!!! Otherwise, I’ll see ya June 5 at 10 pm for season two of Everything On The Menu!” Strowman posted.
Strowman last appeared on SmackDown in April 2025.
