Heavyweights Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez are expected to face off at UFC 110 in February, not UFC 109 as was originally believed MMA Weekly issued the report, and Heavy.com confirmed with sources close to both fighters that the bout has been verbally agreed to.
Heavy.com has also learned that the bout is expected to serve as the main event of the card, which marks the UFC’s first foray into Australia. It will be a title contender’s bout, with the winner receiving a shot at the winner of the eventual Brock Lesnar/Shane Carwin championship fight.
UFC 110 takes place in Sydney, Australia on Feb. 21 at the Acer Arena. The card also features a middleweight bout between Wanderlei Silva and Michael Bisping.
